Why is Blake Lively so overrated?

She lent her song to the preview and a scene in the movie. Hugh Jackman is also famously is very close to this couple and I haven’t seen him do anything to sell the movie - is he icing them out?!?

Hugh attended the premiere

Agree she will be fine. I don’t think it’s all that unwarranted. From what I’ve read about the it ends with us drama, Justin Baldoni bought the rights and had been working on this project for five years. And then he sees Blake, who was a producer and a lead, take things over to get her cut of the movie, have her husband step in, rewrite scenes and add a new one, have his Deadpool editor take over editing, And from what I understand the cast sided with Blake and Ryan, because they hold the power in Hollywood.

She also insisted on having this Barbie run com moment for her movie that didn’t deserve it, since it is a much more serious subject and really offended a lot of fans of the book.

On top of that she used this movie to launch a hair care line and market her other products and her husbands movie.

People are fed up. Agree they’ll get over it eventually. But I don’t think it’s all that surprising.

+1 She'll be fine, but she definitely had it coming. She keeps trying to become this lifestyle influencer, but she just doesn't seem to inspire the same kind of fan base that Gwyneth Paltrow, Jen Garner, or Oprah have in order to pull it off. Now she's outed as a stupid, petty, mean girl and that won't help her to garner more of her target market.

But she'll be fine. Lively and Reynolds have more than enough money for several lifetimes.

Stupid, petty, mean and shallow bimbo is exactly what I have always thought her to be.

How is Taylor Swift her best friend then? Is she also shallow and mean? Self-absorbed I can see, and petty I guess because even in her mid 30s she still can’t let go when a man breaks up with her and keeps writing songs (albums!) about that.

Not to derail this thread into a Taylor swift one but bimbos typically have sex appeal in spades which Ms Americana comically lacks .

I think Blake is naturally a cool girl and Taylor is the hanger on, though at this point she doesn't have to be anymore.

Yeah, but he didn’t lend one of his very famous songs to a scene and to the previews.

I would be shocked if they ever divorced but I also said that about Pratt/Ferris

You mean the wholesome girl-next-door-who-banged-everyone-in-Hollywood, surely. Before she married and cleaned up that reputation, she was well-known for getting around.

So what . . . ?

Recently, it was announced that they had bought a place in Charlotte and we’re planning on spending some time there.

They strike me as a little flaky. A couple of years ago they raved about how they wanted to raise their kids in Bedford away from the city and the paparazzi, but in the last few years, they have been photographed almost daily in NYC. They have school-age kids so their kids must be going to school in NYC. Which is fine but like why make a big deal about moving out to Bedford. And now they’re moving to Charlotte?

I don’t know. Being married to Ryan…. I’m not sure it’s worth the $380 million.
