Don't expect it to be fast. You'll be lucky if it's before August.

This was not our experience. We found out within 2-3 weeks.

This year? Or before?

But not one PreK4 spot has been given? Does this mean that not one PreK3 child has said they won't return or are those spots going to siblings so the list isn't updated? (And isn't ordered by and sibling preference)?

Or while they technically hold a lottery for PK4 (and now K after DCPCSB made them), they only will take PK3 kids. The things you can do with mixed age classrooms.

Does LAMB set aside seats for Spanish-speaking families?

They took plenty of pk4 and K kids last year.

Huh. I expected it to take longer because the current students/siblings may be changing campus and also some classrooms might be moving. It's possible that those admitted later off the waitlist will not be assigned quickly. Also possible that current students will be told they can't move. Or that everything gets changed at the last minute right before school starts. You just never know.

She promoted a despised VP (who also speaks no Spanish and has no Montessori background) despite numerous parent complaints.

I have never seen her once at South Dakota, but she feels empowered to make drastic changes despite her ignorance.

I had a different interprentation of the admin changes. I feel fairly positive about them.

FWIW, here's my interpretation:
I took the South Dakota AP's 'promotion' as a move to get her out of an AP seat and away from having to manage teachers, kids, and parents. Not really a promotion in my eyes but it may end up being so. I think the ED recognized that she wasn't excelling in that position so she moved her to a position which she hoped might be a better fit for her.

Michelle Mangan was promoted to AP and she is fantastic. We have had great interactions with her over the past few years.

The other two individuals promoted both do their jobs well and I see no issue with them receiving promotions. I also see 'Director of Family Engagement' for all three campuses as a way to have fewer parent liaisons. The parent liaisions only served the role of BS'ing parents anyway and trying to keep parents off the admins backs. With an AP in each facility running things and talking to parents themselves, we really don't need parent liaisions......

I think it is motivating to staff to have promotions occuring and to see people moving into positions that are a better fit for them. So, I applaud the ED making these changes, assuming she did so through thoughtful engagement with her team of APs, other senior staff, and the Board. My interpretation (per above) is that she did.

We really like the AP at Missouri and feel that things are running smoothly there. With two SN kids in elementary, we have been at LAMB long enough - and worked closely enough with them - to know how truly horrible the administration of LAMB was previously. Horrible in so many regards. We feel cautiously hopeful about the present and future admin situation.

South Dakota family here. We love the school but the VP that was promoted was as awful as the previous administration. I don’t know a single family who has interacted with her and has found her competent.

I can understand that maybe the ED doesn’t want to fire everyone, but that AP needs to be fired soon and totally taken out of consideration for the principal job. Really hope she leaves on her own, but I would hate her to use her job at lamb to land a more senior job at another school. She is terrible.

The “family engagement” Director is also not good. I heard how she handled a few things and it was shocking. Thankfully I don’t know her well.

I think it depends what the "promotion" is for. The job title is rather uninformative. Did not think she was being considered for the principal job?

Yes that is her goal. Ask around the South Dakota campus. It’s unclear who hate her more- staff or parents.

They will take preK4 kids if space opens up. Take off your tin foil hat.
