What would this prove? I was the only one of my friends to go to an Ivy. We were all white girls. No one ever suggested I wasn't qualified or didn't merit it.

Malia's parents are both brilliant. It's not difficult to imagine she would have gotten in even without being the president's daughter. Tons of kids are academically qualified for Harvard (but may not get in for various reasons).

Brilliant?

Yes PBO, President of Harvard Law Review and Magna Cum Laude graduate and MO Cum Laude graduate (she was also salutatorian of her HS). What were your school credentials?
+1

But Michelle was a Black Studies/Sociology major at Princeton. Not exactly a major in rocket science.

So there are no brilliant sociologists or people who do Black studies? Michelle was the child of two blue collar parents who never went to college and did very well enough to go to Harvard Law School and have a bright career. You don't sound very bright yourself.

Oh the salty white tears have been free-flowing ever since they officially announced Harvard.

And how much a DB do you have to be disrespectful of Sociology. Everybody isn't interested in rocket science, engineering, pre-Med (Michelle wanted to be a pediatrician but prefers reading and writing).

I totally agree with this but am having a hard time getting worked up in the slightest about it. So POTUS's kid got into Harvard, good for her, of course she did. Just like there was never any way King Abdullah of Jordan's kids were getting rejected from Georgetown. Extremely powerful people paying full freight who also happen to be legacies, with offspring from strong private high schools? Yup. That's that. You could not pay me all the money in the mint to do Obama's job--if his kid getting a slot at Harvard is one of the perks, then have at it.

(Arguably, Crown Prince Hussein should have been let in even if he was massively academically unqualified, which he apparently isn't--what's the point of having a School of Foreign Service if you aren't going to use it to try to somewhat educate a teenager who will one day sit on the not-at-all-ceremonial throne of a key regional ally? There could hardly be a more important mission for the school)

Why are you wasting your time on this? All you're doing is feeding an person who gets their empowerment from anonymity behind a keyboard. Accomplishments of African-Americans means nothing to this person (s) and they should mean nothing to you. Guaranteed the Obamas are not losing any sleep over petty people here nor their accomplishments diminished.

Ignore the trolls.

Stats is not an easy class and there is a lot of research and writing. Easy for me, not so easy for my brother the comp sci major or my brother the chemistry major.

And then went on to that easy Harvard Law. Yeah, nothing impressive.

The Obamas are used to this and will press on. I'm happy that she can delay the leaving home moment and enjoy the time with her family. It just kills me that people have such hatred for such a gracious and hardworking family.

Hardworking, yes. Gracious, I don't see it, they have made racial relations worse than they have ever been -- even my Latino and Asian friends talk about our "Deporter-in-Chief" in very surprising terms.

This can't be real. Yes, the Obamas, a black family made racial relations worse. Yup, worse they they have ever been. Worse than when black people were treated as property and not humans. Yup! The Obamas did that.

Fixed it for you.
