Is the one from the NFL gay? That Ocho-cinco dude? Just asking...

The other name I can't get out of my head as an option is Neil/Neal. I don't think my husband was OK with this OR Chad, so it is unlikely that my kids will ever have these names.

He's a wife beater. I don't know about his sexual preference but it doesn't matter since I've never met him. I said I've never met a Chad that wasn't gay.

I honestly don't know anything about that guy other than he was on DWTS and made up his last name based on his jersey number or some such nonsense.

I didn't like the name based on him. I just like it. It's very 80's, and I find that the 80's names are not en vogue right now, which makes them more attractive to me.

I also like the name Vaughn. A Lot. But with our fairly German last name, it sounds strange.

Dammit, naming a kid is hard. And you're not going to please everybody.

Of the German surnames I can think of (and I have quite a few in my family tree in addition to the one I bear), Vaughn sounds fine.

And I like Jason. How's that for a name that reeks of the 70s/80s?

I was pretty stuck on Vaughn, but my husband already vetoed it, citing the odd sound with our last name. I still like it, but since I basically only allow my husband veto power in naming, I will allow it.

I kind of like Jason, too - but our last name ends in the -on sound, and that also sounds strange.

Maybe we'll go with Cal - of course, I have to get pregnant again, which apparently is not going to be as easy as we thought. Damn secondary infertility ;P

Step away from the Chad...terrible name. And likewise for Sherman, please don't do this to your kid.

I'm sorry, PP, your opposition to this name requires me to double-down and use it now, boy or girl.

Nooooo! Oh the humanity! What about the children? What about the children?! Lol!

What's wrong with these?

I don't like Owen because it's just dumb. It's a dumb name.

I don't like George, Henry or Beatrice because they are trying too hard to sound British or something, I don't know. Especially Beatrice.

Just my opinion.

You sound dumb. (Just my opinion)

I also really hate Fiona. Just generally and because I picture Shrek's woman.

Not just Biblical, Old Testament. John, Michael, and Mary are Biblical also, but I don't see them there. Max doesn't fit though. But it sounds Jewish, so I guess that gets it onto the list.

Oh God yes, big groan to Cody and Skyler/lar.

Chip-
Not sure what its a nickname for, but just makes me think of a balding, obnoxious guy in chinos.

Tyler - just rednecky and annoying

Jack - always an obnoxious little brat

As a child of the seventies I was given one of these hideous names. Thanks.

I have one, too, but I was a child of the sixties!

+1, but born in the 80's-- I was always the only one in my class, which seems to be pretty desirable on this board....
