Frost MS
- Fields Road ES (Wootton HS)
- DuFief ES (Wootton HS)
- Lakewood ES (Wootton HS)
- Fallsmead ES (Wootton HS)

Hoover MS
- Stone Mill ES (Wootton HS)
- Cold Sring ES (Churchill HS)
- Beverly Farms ES (Churchill HS)
- Wayside ES (Churchill HS)

Cabin John MS
- Travilah ES (Wootton HS)
- Potomac ES (Churchill HS)
- Bells Mill ES (Churchill HS)
- Seven Locks ES (Churchill HS)

....
It's a bit of a whack plan but they did it to make middle school boundaries contiguous.

If they plan on moving Travilah anyways, why can't they make them go to Ridgeview which is closer and under capacity - 3.5 miles versus the 7 to 9 miles. And they will have Fields Rd for company when they go on to Crown. Why do they have to go to Cabin John or Hoover when they will not be attending Churchill?

PP. Never mind - just realized they will move Fields Rd to Frost. I think the better plan is to keep Fields Rd at Ridgeview and add on one more school from Wootton cluster there since it is under capacity and they both go to Wootton at Crown together.

If Wootton is as bad as families claim, with mold, it needs to be ripped out enitrely, including studs that are wood, electrical and plumbin replaced, etc., that's not a simple or cheap job.

If Fields Rd goes out which ES is coming in to Ridgeview?

I think there's a good chance they consolidate Ridgeview and Lakelands in the ES/MS study that's up next. Both of those schools will be around 55% utilization.

Exactly. Lakelands park is a relatively new building and has a fairly large capacity overall. I think there’s talk of closing some down county middle school but I wouldn’t be surprised that the county wants a centrally located potential middle school holding school (ie perhaps the current Ridgeview building) now that Tilden Middle School is fully open and is not a holding school anymore.

It would be a max 100 million to convert it into a durable holding school, though likely much less. A full renovation would be north of 200 million.

200 million is a lot of money. And, that’s not taking into account inflation or issues that come up.

Rachel Carson ES & half of Diamond ES may zone to Lakeland Park MS under modified option H, that is close to 1,000 kids. How big is the capacity for Lakeland Park MS? I do not realize that Lakeland Park MS has wiggle rooms to take more ES kids.

Lakelands Park's capacity is 1122.

Rachel Carson and also half of Diamond used to be part of Lakelands Park MS. Lakelands Park used to be over capacity a couple years ago.

Diamond has a split articulation to Northwest and to QO.

I doubt that would happen.

Lakelands Park used to be over capacity a couple of years ago and had portables. Currently Ridgeview has 750 enrolled and Lakelands Park has about 1000. Even with Fields Rd moving out that will leave 500 at Ridgeview. And Assuming 200 go to Lakelands, where will the rest go? A 100 to Kingsview and then?

This will mean split articulation and I think they are trying to move away from that.

Not at all. The BOE blew $168M on ev buses without a thought.

Is this true? If so, that's infuriating that the EV buses can be funded but Wootton hasn't been able to get < $100M for repairs. The repairs are more critical than EV buses.

They also blew $400m building Crown based on inaccurate enrollment projections (pre-COVID) in order not to lose the land on which it sits (granted to MCPS in 2006 with the condition it build a school in 20 years). I’m sure the timing was just a coincidence.
