I don’t agree. Matty seems fine and like he is not thinking about her. Taylor in contrast is still making songs about him. |
Correct. Except it was Charli who had brat summer.
|
To be fair, he has posted some things on social media that allude to her over the last 18 months or so. |
+1 sorry but Matty has looked like hes on a verge of a nervous break down for years. It's the drugs. Not Taylor |
uh huh. He routinely looks like a unshowered mess on stage. It's fine. Everyone has their look

Got around to listening, obviously not a big time fan but I’ve enjoyed quite a few of her songs.
Loving actually romantic. Both her and Charlie have some real bangers |
| Opalite sounds exactly like that Spanish song from the 80s. 2 Enamorados by Luis Miguel. |
TS is a middle aged woman who has seen more d's than a urologist. Of course she a size queen. Hotdog in a hallway, as the kids used to say. |
Oh ha, that’s what I meant! Seeing Lorde tomorrow and have her on my brain. |
You are right, it really does. And the intro to Ruin the Friendship sounds like the into to When We Are Together by The 1975. |
|
Most of Taylor’s albums are growers not showers. I need a few listens to get there. The exceptions for me are reputation, folklore, evermore and the anthology (back half of ttpd).
Showgirl has taken a few listens but now I’m all in! Opalite is pure joy! I honestly feel bad for anyone who can’t just have fun with this one. |
Opal item and Fate of Ophelia are good ones IMO. |
For me it's not fun enough. Even the most upbeat songs are still mid-tempo. I would like to see her go back to pre-Lover actual pop. Not for the entire album, but a couple of big epic pop songs with actual melodies at least. |
I can’t tell them apart. It all sounds like regurgitated Sabrina Carpenter music. When Taylor was promoting a modern twist on Ophelia’s fate, I hoped the heroine would come to her senses and gain some character strength and agency. Nope, a man has to swoop in and save her from drowning in melancholy, just like men drove her to drown in the original story. And not any man, but a dimwit whose main allure is his wood. How dull. |
It’s just so cheesy. The first three songs are good for THIS album but they can’t compare to her pop stuff from 1989 and Reputation. They aren’t cheeky and cute like Lover’s lyrics were either, they’re just plain and hamfisted. I really want to like it but I just don’t. She can do better pop than this. There were 3 years in between 1989 and Reputation and I wish she’d go back to that cycle of albums instead of a new one every 18 months with endless variations of her trying to top herself. |
