The first three songs are good for THIS album but they can’t compare to her pop stuff from 1989 and Reputation. They aren’t cheeky and cute like Lover’s lyrics were either, they’re just plain and hamfisted. I really want to like it but I just don’t. She can do better pop than this. There were 3 years in between 1989 and Reputation and I wish she’d go back to that cycle of albums instead of a new one every 18 months with endless variations of her trying to top herself. [/quote]
