+1. And these girls are beauty and brains and connected. They're landing the best internships and job offers, getting into medical and law schools, dating to marry the highest status boys, and graduating with honors. Think what you want but they're the total package. The ethos of these top sorority houses is ruthless Type A overachievers with a soft smile.

At schools with ~80% acceptance rates? Lmao.

That PP seems to know an awful lot about these girls.

You seem to know a lot about being a mean girl.

They are not you or your kids and they are not doing anything important or noteworthy, calm down, no need to ride so hard on behalf a bunch of rando kids you don't know.

You can’t even see the faces of most of these girls (which is a good thing for them), but it’s extra weird to hear all the people going on about their beauty. That’s part of what makes it so odd. We know they’re blond and young and for many, that’s good enough.

What is patriotic about this?

They equate whiteness with patriotism…

I am embarrassed for all the grown adults on this thread who are copping this hard for some vapid kids in these reels. These videos look silly and invite jokes tbh.

I think people are triggered by the beauty, confidence, and exclusivity (ergo money).

Fact of the matter is they're just having fun and overachieving girls at this age are geniuses at social media production and curation. It's not like they spend all day doing this.

It's also a cope to smear these girls as gold digging "Mrs Degree" bimbos. These wealthy sorority houses are full of Type A hyper-ambitious cute UMC and rich gals who will become medical doctors, engineers, girl boss c-suite track, lawyers, dentists, nurses, accountants, Hill staffers, and teachers.

Two examples on both sides of the political aisle: Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer (D), age 53, who was the president of her tailgate state sorority house, before heading to law school. Alabama U.S. senator Katie Britt (R), age 43, who was the president of her tailgate state sorority house and president of the college's student gov, before heading to law school.

You mean sitting at her kitchen table talking in her submissive baby voice Katie Britt? I mean, sure, that’s check out, but no one’s impressed.

Do you have a BA and JD? Passed the bar? Worked for a law firm? Two kids? Married? U.S. senator by age 40?

No. You're just some miserable malcontent posting on a message boarding on a workday morning.

All of that just makes it that much more pathetic that she went along with that silly kitchen table bit. Still not impressed.

They don’t give a shit about what you think. DP

I know they don’t, but I still get to have an opinion.

The more I think about that ridiculous speech, the more the dancing girl videos make sense. So many of these girls will just continue to be pawns to advance the agendas of powerful conservative men.

For the record, even Republicans thought that Katie Britt speech was a disaster:

It's all so gross. 🤮

The South could secede tomorrow and I would be thrilled.

There’s a tidal wave of kids from our wealthy full pay NE suburb going to SEC schools. Not too many interested in Vasser, Swarthmore, Smith be or Mt Holyoke.

That’s the talking point that’s going around right wing social media. But a quick google search shows that the acceptance rate at Mt. Holyoke and Vassar has declined, so like most claims from the fascisti, this seems false.

Alix Earle showed up to Rush Week at UT today. Now we have a twist - I looks like we have brand deals with sororities during rush. She was there to promote Poppi and a paid internship.

Also, I went to UT, rushed and was in a sorority. This is exactly what rush is like there and the door chants are still the same decades later!

So why are schools like UConn, UMass, NYU, BU, BC, every Ivy, Pitt, Penn State, UMD et al more popular than ever. Are all the southerners heading North?

What is this crazy shit?! So glad my wife and I and our kids all went/go to nice quiet Midwest liberal arts schools.

UConn UMass Pitt and Penn State are cheap. BU and NYU magnet for internationals, BC for kids that can’t get into Notre Dame or Georgetown.

Total turn off. I’m so glad my DD is nowhere near the south and has no interest in being a in a plastic Barbie clique. And before you come at me that my DD must have not gotten into a sorority… no, she had no interest. She is in a service club and a hiking group and has wonderful real friends.
