Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is slated to take part in a VoteVets town hall in the early-contest state of Iowa on Tuesday, while Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) is set to headline the South Carolina Democratic Party’s Blue Palmetto Dinner later this month. And Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) attended a town hall in the critical swing county of Bucks County, Pa., on Saturday

FWIW Moore said pretty unequivocally like a week ago that he’s not running. I think I posted it in this thread.

I don’t know much about Ruben Gallego but he could be interesting. Young, raised by a poor single mom but got into Harvard, US marine…would help bring the Hispanic vote that the Dems lost in 2024. And what a contrast to Donald Trump (although god willing, Trump won’t be running in 2028)

Yes, but he is too bland

Vance(?)/Trump vs. Buttigieg/Obama
Only “elected” twice still.
Although according to Donald’s truth he would have been elected POTUS 3 times. But the Constitution doesn’t matter anymore anyway

Obama is smart enough to steer clear of the madness coming out of the GOP and Dem parties since he left office. He will by choice remain irrelevant in politics. I don't blame him.

Newsome is a no after he pulled health care from millions in California.

No one wants Buttigieg. People want someone who will go after Trump, his family and republicans who aid Trump. This will require destroying Fox News and arresting the majority of ICE. Buttigieg does not have the stomach for what is needed.

I'd like to know if he is paying money to get into everyone's Twitter timelines.

No, most people want the one thing we've been lacking since Obama left office- competent leadership! First party to put forth a competent leader wins two consecutive terms, guaranteed!!

Constant revenge, death and destruction is what Hamas and the Israeli Government wants. Is that what you want? If so, go to ****

White-knight to the rescue?

I don’t think so. He could not even get his “little brown brother” out of jail in El Salvador.

NP. The Democrats have a serious credibility problem. People just don’t believe them, particularly anyone associated with pretending Biden wasn’t seriously impaired (but not just that issue). It is a sign of how bad their credibility is that known liar Trump was and still remains is seen as more credible than any leading Democrat candidates.

It doesn’t matter who exactly is the candidate if they can just embrace blunt truth. That will require alienating the far left progressives. But will win the more promising and larger group of moderate voters in swing states.

I understand the point you are trying to make but what you fail to understand is the "them" having the credibility problem no longer exists. Biden and his team are completely gone. The Dems have a clean slate to work with and hopefully the GOP can soon eliminate Trump and their credibility problem as well. If a legitimate leader steps up ahead of 2028, no one will be talking about credibility, progressives, or moderates.... none of that matters when an Obama, Clinton, or Reagan is the party leader and leader of the country.

When a legitimate president is in office, people babble about normal policy differences but they're otherwise content with the competency and credibility of our leadership. Many of you people have simply forgotten what it's like to have a legitimate president leading the country.

Van Hollen is too pure to ever be appointed to the presidency by the elite donors of the DNC.

I don’t think so. The lack of credibility is going to hurt Democrats for a long time. There is no clean slate — most frontrunners endorsed Biden for 2024.

It’s not just Biden either. It’s immigration, it’s trans stuff, it’s covid remnants.

I wish this wasn’t the case. But it is.

You'd be correct if Trump weren't currently in office fumbling all GOP momentum back to the Dems. American voters have short memories. They see what's in front of them in the here and now. Just like in 2020 and 2024, the swing voters who matter will be looking for change from the elderly crap that's currently in office and that will come from the opposition party.
