NP. The Democrats have a serious credibility problem. People just don’t believe them, particularly anyone associated with pretending Biden wasn’t seriously impaired (but not just that issue). It is a sign of how bad their credibility is that known liar Trump was and still remains is seen as more credible than any leading Democrat candidates. It doesn’t matter who exactly is the candidate if they can just embrace blunt truth. That will require alienating the far left progressives. But will win the more promising and larger group of moderate voters in swing states.
I understand the point you are trying to make but what you fail to understand is the "them" having the credibility problem no longer exists. Biden and his team are completely gone. The Dems have a clean slate to work with and hopefully the GOP can soon eliminate Trump and their credibility problem as well. If a legitimate leader steps up ahead of 2028, no one will be talking about credibility, progressives, or moderates.... none of that matters when an Obama, Clinton, or Reagan is the party leader and leader of the country. When a legitimate president is in office, people babble about normal policy differences but they're otherwise content with the competency and credibility of our leadership. Many of you people have simply forgotten what it's like to have a legitimate president leading the country.
I don’t think so. The lack of credibility is going to hurt Democrats for a long time. There is no clean slate — most frontrunners endorsed Biden for 2024. It’s not just Biden either. It’s immigration, it’s trans stuff, it’s covid remnants. I wish this wasn’t the case. But it is.
You'd be correct if Trump weren't currently in office fumbling all GOP momentum back to the Dems. American voters have short memories. They see what's in front of them in the here and now. Just like in 2020 and 2024, the swing voters who matter will be looking for change from the elderly crap that's currently in office and that will come from the opposition party.
