And MAGA voters will continue to slide further down the toilet away from a belief in democracy. There is no expertise or competence. We as a country can’t conceive of doing big things. American exceptionalism is dead. And they will keep voting officials that tell them that. And then proving it. Rinse repeat.
C) we become a fully pay to play kleptocracy. And the masses buy Trump perfume and never notice the they got nothing.

Their insistence that Fox News is the main source of information is a great example of this. Republicans left cable News behind a long time ago. So much, that if you answer that you get your News from cable, pollsters immediately identify you as being on the left.

I'm on the right, and I had never even HEARD the claim that Trump would free J6 prisoners until AFTER the election, when a Democratic relative brought it up. It wasn't a campaign promise. It was words that were, per usual, taken out of context and bandied about in the leftosphere to scare people. That person is most definitely a troll because no one on the right is really tracking this. And it would be a controversial point, because they shouldn't be given carte blanch pardons.

Similar for the border. The left breathlessly told everyone that Trump would not only deport illegals, but also all black people. I mean, what the...? That's just crazy. He only promised to aggressively attempt to remove illegals, starting with the most dangerous ones (violent criminals).

The economy? Yeah, that remains to be seen.

What are your expectations with regard to illegals? Here on DCUM we heard Trump supporters insist, illegal is illegal, anyone who crossed the border illegally is a criminal, and that all of them have to go. All of them. We also heard Trump supporters insist that Haitians approved for asylum under previous administrations have to go, and particularly so because they are stealing cats and dogs and eating them. And that means revoking their status of being in the US LEGALLY under asylum provisions. We also heard you not having any problems with Vance's statements about denaturalizing citizens, immigrants who have been granted US citizenship.

Do you expect ALL of them to be deported, to include approved asylees and naturalized citizens? Or just the illegal border crossers? Do you expect the number of illegals in the US to go to zero?

Don't dance around the question, give us an actual answer.

I'll be impressed if they can deport a million per year, so I'd say my expectations would be for them to deport at least 3M high risk (known violent illegals) for the 4 years he is in office. I'm hoping for more, naturally. We will need several Republican administrations back to back to remove all of the violent gang members etc that came into the US during the Biden administration.

He will get cooperation from certain municipalities like NYC and Texas border towns, and between those areas, he should be able to get millions. Part of their strategy is also to create conditions that prompts people to self-deport. In other words, to make the deportation process onerous enough that people elect to leave on their own terms rather than in Steve Miller's cages. So the deportation numbers will be supplemented with voluntary departures.

It's wild how we haven't heard about "migrant caravans" in more than a year, and how suddenly, the day after Trump won, there are exactly zero stories anymore about "violent Venezuelan street gangs taking over towns" and "migrants eating cats and dogs" and so on. I hate myself so much that i listened to part of Trump’s Mar A Lago press conference and he said that the economy is great, there are tons of new small businesses, more than snything in the last 40 years and blsh blsh….. Biden is president now snd has been in the last 4 years, if the economy is fantastic is thanks to Biden, red states in particular are getting sn avalanche of federal investments that Biden sent and Dems voted for (and often Gop even local representatives voted against and now are praising as if they voted for).

We just have to accept that the current state of the country is a lot like having a horrible intestinal bug. Yes, it’s going to be hot and smelly and embarrassing. It’s going to be uncomfortable.

My college age kid said the only way people will realize they voted for their own suffering is for it to get really, really bad.

Think of it this way—you have a cousin who has a terrible drug or alcohol problem. You’ve tried to tell them that they need to stop using/drinking. Their mother and father as well as their siblings all tell you they’re fine. Great actually. Life of the party and you are just too sensitive and no fun.

That cousin and the family needs to experience the full consequences of their denial—maybe a liver transplant they go bankrupt over and lose everything to pay for. All with you not helping them with a go fund me or saying “see, I told you so.”
