Beginning to think coaches are deciding on talent based on what team you play for- and maybe your school - and then maybe off of seeing you play at a tournament or two and that’s it. Then last look at prospect camp. None of this other stuff. |
Fake news. Last year, coaches whose teams were higher than 38 (projected) had to already start looking at ways to get in line for the 2026 class. Then, House judge forces a DSA tag in the spring this year, so schools may have even taken more portals this cycle than they otherwise would have to get more flexibility for future years (the DSA tag remains for their student athlete life, allows a school to be over for several years). Plus it's transferable, so now the portals with a DSA tag are more marketable as they won't affect the cap. On top of everything, the average Power4 and overall D1 roster was 35. So... 2027 class will be normal. |
HHH Committed Games was amazing for the 2025/2026 committs this year. My player had a blast meeting and playing with her future teammates. They all went to dinner, hung out and I got to know many of the parents. So as a commit with your team it was really fantastic. I can see if you were a 2027 and you didn’t get put on a school that you had any interest in or could see yourself playing that your experience would be very different or not as exciting/fun. |
This 100%!! 2027 class will be completely normal with recruiting numbers. |
. Plus, it’s really not a recruiting event. It’s a committed event and the recruiting class of the year is lucky to get an invite to play with the committed players, but this is not a premier recruiting event. It is a committed players event. So going into it with the right mindset and understanding the goal of the event helps with your expectations. Also, all these coaches have their list by now so if you’re not on their list of tier 1 players they want then you need to cast a super wide net and keep pounding the pavement at schools that are a fit. Coaches want to win so they’re recruiting the best player to help them WIN. only 3% of all lacrosse players graduating will go on to play D1 lacrosse. |
Were there coaches watching the 2027 showcase the day before? Trying to decide if worth it for my 2028 next year. How did 2027’s indicate they were interested in a team? |
. They are evaluating on your lacrosse talent/skill first and then overall fit for the needs they have on their roster. It’s pretty simple. These coaches need to win games. That’s how they keep their job. They don’t care what school you go to or what club as long as you’re a top-tier high-level player with really good grades so admissions is easy and their Academic Index stays on target. Evaluating and considering players from a Top School, Top Club that look good at tournaments and at a prospect camp seems reasonable way to make your interest list as a coach. |
. It is definitely worth it if your 2028 gets on a the team they really want and is a good fit! That is when this event is invaluable for recruiting. Just know it is a gamble— you don’t know what school is going to pick you. Hopefully, your player emailed coaches telling them they would be there hoping to play with the team. Also, hoping recruiting coordinator was reaching out to the school that is attending and letting them know your player will be there too. Then HOPE/PRAY the school feels the same way about your player and wants them just as much so they get picked. It’s an honor to get picked by any D1 school and be able to play as a recruit at this event, but if you’re not going into it with that expectation, then this may not be an event for your player to attend. You have no control over what school selects you —the school/organizer decides who they want and the host HHH committs gets their players on teams first. |
For the love of all that's holy, who cares what team you play on? You get to go play with and against some good and verified senior to you competition. If you're not fried from the summer and not on vacay yet, go if you want to. |
How do you get to that event if you are a 2027? Was it invite only? Were there signups? |

You need to apply and register for it as a 2028 for next year once registration opens. The committed 2027 will be told if her team is participating and they will send a seperate link to register with your team once your college team decides they are participating. |
Did the college coaches watch the 2027 showcase the day before or did they not arrive until the next day? |
Is it on a first come basis until full or are you selected? |
You can also just ask a coach to play for a particular team if you have interest (and the guts to ask). It would be tough for a coach to say no. I heard about several players playing for several teams over the course of the weekend. With injuries and early departures, teams sometimes needed additional players. |
Is assignment to teams random otherwise? |
