A lot of words to tell us you think you are right and those who don't agree with you are wrong, and you don't want to hear what they have to say, and they should shut up. That is why I asked, are those who do not agree with the moderator welcome to this site? Should we contribute to its ad dollars? Again, that is not a threat, but a question, because if you don't want us here really, but just want us to pretend we can contribute so you have earn revenue, that isn't fair to us. |
This is how coddled Israel's defenders are. I'm sure we will get a congressional hearing on hate based solely on your post, since that's all it takes. You're supposed to be nice to them when defending why it's a bad thing to defend burning people alive. Ironically, acting like *Hannibal* Lecter where they expect you to behave with manners as they rip your face off. |
No, you have behaved differently on this topic. Why don't you make a sticky letting people know what they can and cannot say? Why keep up the pretense that people can say what they want, particularly when you just said you will delete posts that say some specific things? |
It is not a matter of niceness. It is about strategy and effectiveness, as one who seeks to make change in the world. Insults and cursing and personal attacks do not achieve anything. |
What do you see as the value of outright lies? I am not sure why, but in one of your earlier posts you accused me of saying things that I did not say. What is the value of that? I've left your post because I don't really care about lies about me. But in a topic like this, what is the value of someone stating things that factually are not true (e.g. that Hamas would bomb any church that it could despite one of the most ancient churches being safe under Hamas until Israel bombed it)? I am really confused as to why keeping objectively false information is important to you. |
DP. It's an objective fact that Hamas hasn't blown up Christian churches in Palestine like you claimed they would. It's not up for debate nor a subject of agreement or disagreement, it's just a fact. That you won't acknowledge. I appreciate Jeff's intolerance for falsehoods and if he were to allow hateful BS like yours to stand for his profit, then I would stop giving him clicks, just like I have on all the other social media sites that allow it. |
No need for a sticky to tell people they aren't allowed to lie. Lies aren't protected free speech and are subject to libel lawsuits. |
What do you want us to do with your persistent confusion? Hire a neurologist to examine you? |
Shouldn’t we leave it to each person to determine the utility of their actions? Besides, why are you so obsessed with trying to silence others if their actions are having no effect? |
Becaus the behavior is not helping you. It is not helping the Palestinians. Being mad and telling people you are mad and telling people they are stupid and evil accomplishes nothing. Do something. Read about Thurgood Marshall. Read about Churchill. They didn't sit around teling people they were so mad and demanding change. You can't demand anything. Find a way to make change. |
Oh, so Israel is burning children to death because someone got mad at you and called you stupid and evil. It's all their fault, and not Israel's. Ok
|
| Thank you, Bill Maher. I appreciate you. |
DP The only specific action I have heard from pro-Palestinian American activists is that they are going to not vote for Harris in the hopes of teaching the Democrats a lesson. The only lesson they will learn is not to listen to you. Change takes work. The US needs to stop giving Israel weapons. But elected officials will not change their behavior because you didn't vote. They need to be primaried out. The work happens in the primaries and after the general election. During the general election, throwing a literal tantrum can only help Trump get elected and he will absolutely do whatever Bibi wants. And maybe that's what you want? Bibi wants war and war is the only way to destroy Israel? But ostensibly what people are saying is they want peace and they want to save lives. So no, Trump is not the answer. Stop choosing the absolute laziest form of protest. |
Something doesn’t add up … You have very clearly, over the course of many months, established that you believe that a biblical covenant between God and the Jews literally gave them the holy land for all eternity, and that you DO NOT want any change in U.S. foreign policy except for America to send its servicemen and women to fight Israel’s wars for it. You have also repeatedly shrieked that the Biden administration isn’t doing enough. You have stated these things repeatedly. Or are you now going to argue that you have not done these things? But now you are trying to convince everyone that you’re concerned that those opposed to everything you stand for are not doing their best to get the results they want? You’re coaching them to be more effective? Again, to be more effective in efforts that lie in direct conflict with what you want? Do you see why many view people like you as irredeemable liars? |
Pro-Palestinian activists are not naive children. They understand the political calculus as well as you do. But put yourself in their shoes. What has Biden refused Netanyahu that Trump will give him? You may be correct that politicians don't listen to those who don't vote for them, but that is only if they win. If politicians learn that they can't win without your vote and they know that they have to listen to you to earn your vote, I suspect that they will listen. |
