What does this mean

I assume he means, if you have a kid who is looking at GC and is expecting to play varsity lax either as a freshman or sophomore, be advised that your kid can abruptly lose his spot to a transfer at any time. I assume this can happen at any IAC/WCAC program but some schools do it more than others and it's something to consider when you're looking at a school for your kid, at least with regards to athletics.

Dane has elevated GCs program big time in just 3 years.

Look for the Falcons to finally crack the WCAC title game this Spring.

Gonzaga will be very young next season, the falcons bring back the meat of their starting lineup.

GC is fools gold. Similar to last year, they will play a soft schedule to pad stats… come wcac play, they will fall hard. Will trail SJC, GZ, DM and PVI come spring

Fixing a broken program - pick your school here but GC fits - takes 2-3 years minimum. GC might make the semifinals of WCAC but thats the likely ceiling for next year.

Gonzaga’s seniors are weak

The juniors and sophomores are worse. Future is not bright until the 2028 class but that is a long way off.

Seems a little quiet on D3 recruiting front-still early in season?

D3 doesn't recruit. You apply and pay a lot of money and your child gets a leg up because they play a sport. Hope your child has the grades first, the money 2nd and the skill last.

That’s ridiculous

Two recent high academic D3 commitments out of STA - Amherst and Bowdoin.

They've committed to the application process, way different.

I would not say very different and act like they were not recruited. At Ivies and strong academic D3 schools yes you are committing to the process as they don’t just escort you in but prereads have been done, players thoroughly vetted for academics and athletics and the vast majority of the time they are accepted early decision or early action because of this vetting. Yes some screw ups happen and good players are not accepted if grades drop, test scores don’t pan out, but it is a significant accomplishment to be recruited by schools like these and have the grades to go with your athletics.

pre-read = your family has approached the d3 school and they said submit your academics and then we'll go from there. You are confirming it's academics first, income 2nd and skills last.

D3 absolutely recruits. It isnt as robust or formal as D1 but D3 teams recruit. Go look at tournament lists of colleges attending. They aren't doing that just for the "process."

As of right now all commitments for 2025 and the few at 2026 D1-D3 are all verbal until the letter is signed but yes they are still commitments and should and can be celebrated on social media D3 is no different just like every other year has been.

Which area school has the strongest 2026 and 2027 classes?

In my eyes, the 2025 class seems a bit down relative to previous years.
