They have zero chance of being an actual contender in Class 5 this year. Riverside has it locked down.

That may be true, but that doesn't mean Riverside has to run up the score like they do. No reason they need to beat people by that much. Have some class.

Looks like someones never been to a Riverside game. Where they spin the ball for most of the 4th quarter. I'd rather a team actually play than just play stall ball, if I was in there shoes.

Just had this same discussion for pages on the other VHSL Class 6 board. No win situation for the better team. Riverside subs early and often and doesn't try to rub it in - they are just that much better.

Riverside was up 9-0 after the first quarter last night. Won 16-3. Definitely didn't run up the score.

I don’t think they have ever run up the score. If they score in the 2nd half with a big lead it’s always with backups. Statement doesn’t hold much merit at all actually.

They were up 9-0 against Dominion in the 1st quarter. Won 14-4.

I wouldn’t say zero chance. Just remembering last year they beat Briar the first game big but then barely hung on to beat them in the conference championship last year. Anything can happen!

The first game with Briar last year was 14-8. Indy lost 21-6 this year. They aren't turning it around that much.

I will say this... I have watched alot of Riverside Lacrosse over the years... they have had some really good teams. Although this might not be the most talented group they have had, it may be the best at working "as a team". They move the ball encredibly well. When you spread the ball around as much as they do right now, its had to have a game where you are that off. They can go fast, they can slow it down, they play great defense, fantastic goalie, and they have a great faceoff player.... Please show me how Briar or Indy can exploit the Rams?

They didn’t play well against Freedom and let them hang around and lost. I’m just saying anything can happen.

Riverside has not lost a post-season game since 2018 and this Indy team is not the team that is going to break that streak. Briar has a better shot but I don't see it happening. None of the southern VA teams looks good enough this year either.

I'd email the Freedom Coach and ask him what their game plan was, or watch the film. It was never more than 1-2 goal lead for either team, with both having leads at some point. Freedom did something right to stivk around and have the opportunity to win. Having their FO Player back is huge now, but he wasn't playing when Riverside beat Madison, Atlee, or St A-B.

Briar 13 - Indy 10

4 Unreleasable penalties
11 Total penalties
1 Bench penalty
1 Possible ejection

The penalties were pretty accurate. Was not keeping track but there had to have been at least 6-7 unsportsmanlike penalties. Do fans from either team not care? Coaches don’t seem to care.

There was at one point 3 different penalties and a possible ejection to start the 4th quarter. Flags flying everywhere! It’s borderline embarassing at this point especially when you know it’s going to happen before the game. Very little control or care.
