Restorative justice Does. Not. Work.

It can. It just doesn’t work well in schools and the training for it is terrible.

Teachers absolutely hate it. The lack of consequences for bad behavior is fueling major burnout.

You have to be a troll. All we’re doing is consequences. There is so much documentation and procedural work. RJ is not replacing consequences. It’s in ADDITION to consequences.

Another clueless admin. who doesn’t get things are reaching a tipping point. Teachers don’t want to keep teaching when NOTHING happens to so many students. Teachers are being cussed at, attacked, and constantly interrupted by students in class, or students wandering in and out of classrooms. We see students being mercilessly bullied. We see students fighting and they go to the office and are sent back to class with some candy.

"Cussed at"? Is this in FCPS?
yes, left and right. ask your kid if they hear cuss words in 6 hour school day.

“Cuss”? Is this Alabama?

Weak sauce

I get that VA is in the South. Didn’t realize it was SOUTH South.

NP — I don’t understand. I’m from Michigan and heard people use the word “cuss” frequently. Didn’t know the South had exclusive rights to this word.

But I was told that if we don't vote party line Democrat for school board, Donald Trump will become dictator of FCPS and put us all in concentration camps. I literally can't even. We need Democrats on the school board to save us from WW3.

+1. Students are also being bullied and there are essentially no consequences for the bully. In fact, more students laugh at the bullying as it continues with only failed warnings or simple principal comments to ‘be kind’. The RJ attempt backfired as well.

+2 I had to pull my 7th grader out of FCPS because of the complete failure of the elementary school and middle school to address bullying.

The GOP has no chance of winning because all of the sane candidates left years ago. They have to run as Ds now (McDaniel). The GOP only had unelectable nuts in 2023.

Maybe next time you can dig up someone who doesn’t storm government buildings or hate LGBTQ youth.

Post is dead. Thanks to political crazies.

Meanwhile, RJ is not working. May it rest in peace.

This is utter nonsense. People don't take the time to learn about the candidates and then just vote a straight party-line ticket.

So melodramatic. Who actually said that? The SB is all Democratic again bc the alternatives presented were even worse/aligned with some cuckoo ideas.

There certainly are people who vote party line, but many people (a lot of parents!) who research school board members.

If you want more votes get rid of the crazy - at all levels.

News flash: The FCPD and FCPS are well in cahoots to make sure that little or nothing happens, including with physical violence. Speaking from experience.
