The buses pass through there so not sure how that would work. Maybe the HOA of Century Oak should contact the school and ask them to not force everyone to go through their community by blocking w.ox in order to go pickup/park. Otherwise, just suck it up, it happens for like 20min 2x a day and was way worse last year.

Kiss and Ride on West Ox would cause accidents.

You totally missed the point. No one said to move kiss n ride to wox. Either read the entire post or don't bother replying.

Kiss n ride is very smooth now. The line moves quickly in the afternoon since all the parents who insist on parking and walking are no longer blocking the flow the parking lot. Bravo, Mr. Simms Smith!

This thread is super dumb and I hope says more about the people on DCUM than it does about FCPS parents in general.

The exit onto thompson gets backed up from time to time

a cop to direct traffic would be appealing

It’s not nearly as bad as last year. It moves quickly once kiss n ride starts because there are no cars darting back and forth from the different lots. It is the best I’ve seen it in years!

What’s dumb about it?

People have legitimate complaints about the kiss and ride. Seems like the new navy principle has worked on it.

I don't see it being dumb at all. Plus nothing wrong with parents advocating for their kids and wanting a good principal after a popular one with the parents/staff/teachers left.

Did anyone notice the new rope at kiss n ride now? I guess the cones aren’t good enough?

I'm friends with a lot of parents who happen to also be teachers at our ES and none of them gossip to me about school-related things (except maybe things that kids that our kids' are friends with do). But even if we're talking about our kids' own teachers, they still stay quiet because that's their colleague. I can't imagine one of my friends who works at the school, let alone a teacher I barely know, gossiping to me about their new boss. PP sounds like a troll who is digging in.

You aren’t really friends with them as much as you like to think you are.

Sorry you don't know what a friend is.

Navy parents are on here arguing about kiss and ride.
If I do a search for my kids' ES, it brings up maybe 2 or 3 threads. But there are a handful of schools with some really prolific posters (both positive and negative), and Navy is one of them.

I don’t see any arguments, just discussion.
