Heidi in classic Heidi. You know this is a big event because she's just doing boobs and not boobs AND legs which is her default. She's elevating for the moment. This color is phenomenal on her.

Daisy Edgar-Jones. Another sheer dress over unfortunate-looking beige underthings. I think this would look cool over a black body suit. The embellished stripes give it a "beam me up" vibe that I like. But I cannot get past the skin-colored body suit.

Olivia Rodrigo. I really like this but I am such a sucker for animal print. This is a really elevated way to do it.

I dislike so much on this page. Nancy P is good all things considered. And the straight plain black dress completely acceptable. I guess they really take more chances at the after events.

How many people are these celebrities traveling with? Full sets of huge clothes. Many have complete hair and makeup changes too. There’s always an IG of teams of hair & makeup stylists attending to for example Nicole Kidman pre show.

Suki Waterhouse. All the Daisy Jones and the Six cast attended this event but she is the only one whose look wowed me. She looks hot AF.

The big stars all have suits at nearby hotels with full teams -- stylists, hair and make up, assistants. And some of the big stylists will set it up so all their major clients are near each other and they can work with them all at once (plus they will employ multiple assistants and dressers to deal with little details so no on gets neglected).

Did anyone else ever watch the Rachel Zoe Project. She is kind of a lot but I really loved watching her work with clients to prepare for events like this. It's fascinating.

Alison Brie and Dave Franco. I do not like the boob/cutout situation on her dress and find the way they are standing so awkward and off-putting. The look like pod people. She looks good (hair, makeup all great, the silhouette of the dress is really nice) but there is something very uncomfortable about this.

That's the same feeling I had when I saw this. Something is off about this. She looks better in her workday sheath dresses.

Some of it is her posture, I think. Maybe needed a different bra and to be pulled in a little more at the waist? Maybe take a couple of inches from the hem? In theory this is the dress of my dreams - gold lame but you can wear a bra! - but it's just the teeniest bit off.

Rooney Mara's jacket (her dress is the same as she wore on the red carpet). She actually changed into this for the ceremony because I spotted it on her during Sarah Polley's acceptance. I looooove it and wish she'd just worn it for the red carpet. Still do not get the way the skirt of her dress is bundled behind her, but this jacket is cool and unusual and special to me. It makes the rest of the look make sense to me. Yes it's costumey but that's the point. The Oscars are about fantasy, high fashion, going big.

Haim. Can I just say I am so tired of everything Louis Vuitton is putting people in for events. It's all overworked with uninspired color choices and everyone looks angry and dead. Same complaints about both dresses Ana de Armas wore last night.
