Where are nonbinary or trans students assigned female at birth more than likely to find a more accepting environment: a new coed school or an all-girls' school where they've attended since they were younger? |
Imagine that, parents who think that their know best, not their CHILDREN. So many parents seem more than willing to let their children dictate values and learning. Parents need to parent. Just because the kids don't think their is an issue with a transgener student being at a single sex school doesn't make it so. Kind of like claiming you are the opposite sex of how you were borne. |
What??? Yes you can! Xxy xyx are all multigender. That's the entire train for the word intersex. |
|
What does it mean to identify as a girl? I was a tomboy as a kid yet I always identified as a girl because I had a vagina/knew I’d be getting breasts some day. I didn’t identify as a girl because of social expectations.
What does it mean to identify as a girl/not identify as a girl? |
When it comes to my teen's gender, and sexuality, I don't actually know best because they are their own person and not a carbon copy of me. I can't control whether they are straight or gay, or gender conforming or trans -- and neither can anyone else. It is what it is, as their genetics have determined. As far as "dictating values," my values are to ensure my teen studies, is kind and respectful to others, and contributes to their community and family. None of that is affected by whether they are gay or gender nonconforming. |
|
Gay.
Straight. Trans. None of these categories has anything to do with the fact you’re born male or female. |
Intersex is a very rare medical condition which has nothing to do with trans or not addressing girls at a girls’ school as “girls”. |

Doesn’t matter.
Area privates now operate under the dictates of the NAIS which is controlled by the Glasgow Group. If they do not obey they risk losing their accreditation. |
This it’s pay to play really disgusting |
Not this - Glasgow does not control DEI or accreditation. They provide consultation and workshops for how private schools can become more sensitive to DEI issues. As a parent of a POC, I can assure work is need in this area even when it is done over the loud protestations of white parents. |
|
Glasgow controls DEI and de facto accreditation. If you ignore their recommendations there’s a real possibility your accreditation is in jeopardy.
“Loud protestations” of white parents is prohibited lest you be branded a “white supremacist.” They address that directly in order to stifle dissent. Now people will just walk away. |
| I have a hard time believing lots of these concerned posters actually have a child at a girls school. Whether or not they call the students, ‘girls’ or ‘students’ will not change the heavily ingrained girl-centric dynamic at any of these schools. It’s simply a change in semantics to make a subset of students more comfortable. |
I have a hard time believing you really know what it is like to attend an all girls school. I attended one, did you? If you didn't then you are just speculating how the trans movement will affect the all girl dynamic which of course won't be all girls if girls are permitted to attend when they present and as boys. And of course, aren't we being condescending if we say we know you think you are a boy but it's ok we will let you stay at this all girls school because deep down everyone knows you are really a girl? As for the NAIS, yes it is pay to play lest you loose accreditation, it's a huge conflict of interest, the system should be dismantled and rebuilt |
Sadly, not enough people will walk away, if only |
Plus one |
