Could this ruling also set precedent that would prevent people from having their end-of-life choices made by family members if a state’s voters think people need to be on ventilators long term?

I'm a woman. MOST women out of the 60+ million who aborted their babies werent forced to have sex, get pregnant, and have medical issues. Many of those women need to think smarter and quit using abortion as a means to get rid of a baby.

In every case, these women got pregnant when they didn’t want to be. No birth control is 100% effective, or even medically possible for some women. For example me. I cannot take hormonal birth control. Im married with children. I cannot risk pregnancy again, I would be terrified if I became pregnant again. But barring never having sex with my husband again, it could happen. I would choose abortion. Many women find themselves in similar situations. Accidents happen. Abortion need to be available, particularly in the first trimester. This ruling would take that option away. It is unacceptable and dangerous. A women’s reasons are her own business.

60+ million abortions did not occur for the types of circumstances you noted. Too many occur for no other reason than precautions not taken.

More than once I have personally heard forced birthers talking about pregnancy as “the time” for the “crime” of sexual intercourse. You can try to pretend otherwise, but your side absolutely thinks pregnancy and birth are a punishment for what you perceive to be licentious activity. And those are your religious beliefs. Well I ask because I have Catholic family, and it was brutal to watch a relative struggle with deciding when to call it. Took over a year, just horrible. I could see a state invalidating a person’s medical directives because “suicide”. It’s not really that different from telling a pregnant woman she must carry a child to term, when the fetus has severe health problems that will necessitate life support. And then, forcing the family to keep said child on life support.

This could all happen. Because bodily autonomy is not a thing anymore I guess.

Sorry, you don't get to insert yourself into a decision between a woman and her doctor. You don't get to force your will on women's bodies.

Wouldn't this law make IVF almost impossible to do legally (if not ban it outright)? Would a doctor be obligated to transfer an embryo that is found to have genetic defects, for example? What happens if an IVF cycle is unsuccessful? Will the doctor now be subject to some kind of criminal investigation?
