Will the FCV Elite team become the FCV DA? Also, can someone explain why there are two strong FCV teams. I understand that one of those teams transferred in from another club.

Hit send too soon. I'd assume a good amount of that elite team are going DA along with the additions from Loudoun etc. Yeah that "extra" State Cup team is a little hinky. But that's the world our kids occupy.

The extra team is formerly odfc 05. A good 05 team that will now get destroyed

They got too big for their britches. Tisk Tisk. Theyre about to learn the same fate as those they came before them. Should have stayed on a path that was working. Now..kabooooom

Well it wasn't the kids fault. Not sure how somebody stays behind when a team is moving. I don't think ODFC is three or four teams deep in the age group like the bigger clubs are. I don't imagine there were many options. But there are good players on that squad and they'll find their own path Im sure.

Anyhow, that's what I meant when I described it as hinky. Not sure how I'd feel if I were on the "premier" team which is the B team then 16 or so more kids just show up half way through the season. But again that's the world the kids play in. So you have to take it in stride and keep working.

They had 3 top 05s teams to choose from...plus 05s coming from outside. So, how do you think their team will look. Some of y'all still dont get it. They can be arrogent because the tank is never on empty...and no..ECNL at Loudoun changes nothing.

The rest of the kids will be discarded and told to stay on elite team. DON'T DO IT! Some of the discarded kids are good enough to play 80 minutes at top level elsewhere.

If ECNL at Loudoun means nothing - why did none of the Loudoun 07 accept offers from FCV? Not a single one is going over. Do you think they are all waiting until next year for the mass exodus? Loudoun 07 is actually gaining players from other clubs. 104 tryouts for 07 age group alone.

It's because of ECNL.

ENCL means something, because FCV will not be able to take players like they used to from Loudoun. Not going to happen. 06G Red had only 2 go over to FCV DA, which i think was a mistake. Others didn't accept offers from FCV GDA.

BOOM there you have it for all those FCV GDA lovers!!!

Speaking of empty tanks, will FCV have a U9 team next year? Will they try to build up a U10 team from scratch or just give up on that age group?

I did (and still do). I watch it as well. I like to watch multiple pro leagues, because of the differences in style, tactics, and even talent level.

But I get your point. I would wager most of these people didn't and don't. Like hearing the ridiculous parent comments (even within my own club) to refs at games.

Same here. I watch religiously, especially analysis of the games after a specific match. I think most people are in over their heads, not really knowing what they talk about. I been in soccer for long time. I constantly hear and see parents that haven't a clue, especially when they try to coach from the sideline. It is literally comical. What they are doing is detrimental to their kids. They think they are helping, but instead harming development of their kids. If they know SO MUCH, why don't you coach? Right?

How would you rate premiere league vs La Liga?

Premier league definitely more physical, it is harder to transition to that league from anywhere else as a player in my opinion. Although, English teams have not been as successful in Champions league lately (of course Liverpool this year), it is still top notch. La Liga is really 2 maybe 3 team league with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletico Madrid. I see more technical skills.

I prefer the Barcelona style of play, possess as much as possible, put the other team to sleep and score.

This is why the conversations go south.

You all want to hear the truth but then go " who cares" when you hear it.
Do you care or do you you not care. If you don't, get off the forum and go cut your grass or something.

They suckered the adults of that team to bring them in and now they will pick them apart.

Morons destroying a good thing because future glory. Guess who will suffer?

No, I'm not affiliated with either team....but that is the truth

Take several seats. People aren't being suckered, they're being lazy. If your kid shows promise put in the time and research this thing. All the time and money that goes into this and people just blindly follow advice on a forum? Or follow friends to a club? Or someone's "brand" as a coach? Go to practices, find a trainer etc. People need to understand where their kids are in their development and do a better job of finding an environment for their kid.

MLS player may have an easier time in premier league.

No way. Why not next year? Buying yourself some time? DA and ECNL starts at U13. Why are some players not going over right now despite the opportunity to? The facts are not working out for your little theory. In fact it's going exactly the other way.

Nobody is leaving a talented team like Loudoun 07 Red for a team that they beat 4 times. The talent level is not even close. Twice they beat FCV 10-0. Loudoun stops trying to score when they hit 10.

For the 07 group Loudoun ECNL will be the top choice followed by FCV.

Write that down.

Some parents are too smart to start spending that money at U12 or U13. DA makes the most sense at U15 and above. U14 is questionably worth the travel money for showcases in NC and SD and travel to NJ and NY for regular season games.. U13 makes even less sense. So smart parents with girls who will make the team later may choose to wait to save some scratch.

You are clueless. Loudoun and FCV are the same cost at a given age group. Within a couple hundred bucks.

Why are the parents of young players at Loudoun so clueless?

Done trying to explain anything to you Loudoun 07g Red dad. You got it.

So reading between the lines, is it your premise is that even if they stay put at Loudoun (or wherever), when they get to U14, they will be seduced by the glory of GDA, and go to WS, FCV, or ASA ? Or perhaps that the top handful of talented girls will go and the remaining team will be weakened ? So what? That's probably a good thing in my book. Just as it is now for current U14's, those that see future glory will go to GDA, and those that seek a more balanced approach can stay with ECNL. Horses for courses.

Anonymous
Ok..heres to Loudoun future glory under a the more balanced approach of ECNL...cheers!

Go have a beer with the former Loudoun 04 and 05 parents. You guys can swap stories.

Loudoun 05 ECNL...who you going to play next year? Mclean 05 destroyed. BRYC 05 in last place. VDA 05..who knows...mayve South Carolina will put up a good fight...lmfao.

ECNL MA is over...but good luck with maintaining players for ECNL
