I am guessing this a PP who didn't see the post that some girls went to WS, others to Arlington.. |

There seem to be many folks who know about Loundoun and FCV but no one can tell me about the 05 teams. For example, is the Loudon 05 Red team moving to ECNL? Are the Loudoun 05 struggles a result of players leaving for FCV?
Will the FCV Elite team become the FCV DA? Also, can someone explain why there are two strong FCV teams. I understand that one of those teams transferred in from another club. |
A quick run down. Loudoun 05 got a new coach, went full field (all teams did but it can cause hiccups for some kids) and lost a few players as a result of The coaching change to begin the year. They are also losing some players that were there for this year to FCV for next. |
Hit send too soon. I'd assume a good amount of that elite team are going DA along with the additions from Loudoun etc. Yeah that "extra" State Cup team is a little hinky. But that's the world our kids occupy. |
The extra team is formerly odfc 05. A good 05 team that will now get destroyed |
hinky? how so? |
They got too big for their britches. Tisk Tisk. Theyre about to learn the same fate as those they came before them. Should have stayed on a path that was working. Now..kabooooom |
Well it wasn't the kids fault. Not sure how somebody stays behind when a team is moving. I don't think ODFC is three or four teams deep in the age group like the bigger clubs are. I don't imagine there were many options. But there are good players on that squad and they'll find their own path Im sure. Anyhow, that's what I meant when I described it as hinky. Not sure how I'd feel if I were on the "premier" team which is the B team then 16 or so more kids just show up half way through the season. But again that's the world the kids play in. So you have to take it in stride and keep working. |
They had 3 top 05s teams to choose from...plus 05s coming from outside. So, how do you think their team will look. Some of y'all still dont get it. They can be arrogent because the tank is never on empty...and no..ECNL at Loudoun changes nothing. The rest of the kids will be discarded and told to stay on elite team. DON'T DO IT! Some of the discarded kids are good enough to play 80 minutes at top level elsewhere. |
It's the adults fault....and those adults who made that decesion will get booted as well. Can't make this crap up...lol |
Well in that case maybe the club just really wanted to win State Cup so they brought in the squad that came in second last year. Really who knows, and to be honest who cares because much of what you said is probably how it's going to end up when it's all said and done. |
|
Maybe they wanted to bring in a team that almost won state cup?
This is why the conversations go south. You all want to hear the truth but then go " who cares" when you hear it. Do you care or do you you not care. If you don't, get off the forum and go cut your grass or something. They suckered the adults of that team to bring them in and now they will pick them apart. Morons destroying a good thing because future glory. Guess who will suffer? No, I'm not affiliated with either team....but that is the truth |
If ECNL at Loudoun means nothing - why did none of the Loudoun 07 accept offers from FCV? Not a single one is going over. Do you think they are all waiting until next year for the mass exodus? Loudoun 07 is actually gaining players from other clubs. 104 tryouts for 07 age group alone. It's because of ECNL. |
all i got out of this last reply was blah blah blah. |

One comment on the playing up issue to "challenge" players. Girls' side, it's often more about size and speed that affords them the opportunity to play up, so that's not always the right answer to challenge a talented player. Some girls are able to play up simply because they are big or very fast - i.e. athletic in some fashion. It isn't always indicative of superior ability.
Meanwhile, I see talented but smaller girls - perhaps behind in puberty in some cases - but with solid technical skill that can't physically, even when they are more talented than girls who are given those chances. My point: playing up isn't always the right answer or even helpful developmentally. Sometimes it is a recipe to get hurt by bigger - if clumsier players. So sometimes a player needs a more challenge, faster paced place to play within her own age group. |
