| Id love to hear too. About this and any near death or out of body exp. |
| When I was little (between 7-8), I walked into my childhood bedroom in the middle of the day and saw standing directly in front of me, a black shadow. It was taller than me (but not super tall), in the shape of a man. I gasped, ran full speed out of my room and didn't sleep well for a long time afterwards. I've tried to rationalize it for years, but I still can't figure out a logical explanation for it. The figure was standing in front of my window on a sunny day, and looked like a human would, except it was all black. |

In our former townhouse in Gaithersburg, my husband and I routinely would experience the feeling that a "presence" was there in the bedroom with us, but only when one of us was alone in the bedroom. We would feel someone sit down on the bed, and there'd be nobody there; or we'd hear someone walking softly across the carpet and in front of our box fan.
We both had these experiences separately from each other for several months, and didn't mention it to each other because it sounded crazy. When I finally told him what I thought I had experienced, his face turned white and he said, "The exact same thing has been happening to me." We've lived in two houses since then, never had any issues like that in the other houses. |
| Wow this is interesting!! |

My mom's side of the family is a little weird with things. Her sister died about 13 years ago, and as older sisters go, she still likes to play jokes on my mom. My mom will be looking for something and she'll know where it is and when she goes to get it, it won't be there. Then she'll say "OK (sister's name), I need X. Please put it back" and then my mom will find it somewhere. I was home visiting one time and my mom was in a panic because she couldn't find my grandmother's pouch that had her rosary beads and a special coin from her sister. She was pretty close to hysterics and I said, I'm pretty sure last time I was home it was in the top drawer in my old bedroom. Mom and Dad go to check, can't find it. Mom does the "Ok sister. What did you do with it?" I say, let me go check, I know I saw it there. Sure enough, it is where my parents had just looked.
When my grandfather passed away (long before I was born) a picture of him fell off the bedside table and landed on the phone about 10 min before my mom got the call that he had passed. My grandmother passed away of old age in our home (she lived in an in-law apartment). The day before she passed, she was mostly in an incoherent stage and was pretty out of it. We were in her room getting ready to say our goodbyes and she started crying and saying "David is here, David is here". We all thought she meant her son who is named after his dad. Then she started saying "she's so beautiful, she's so beautiful. I've missed you so much." And my mom started asking her who and my grandmother clear as day says "Daughter (the one who had passed away 13 years ago). Oh she's so beautiful. " So at this point we are realizing that when she said David is here, she probably met her husband. My grandmother, at this point, is crying tears of joy and saying her parents names. Then she looked around the room said "I love you all so much" and closed her eyes. She never opened her eyes or said another word again and 24 hours later her heart stopped. Oh, another story from my mom's side. Her sister was involved in a horrible car accident when she was a teenager. She was actually pronounced dead at the scene. She apparently had an out of body experience where she saw and heard the paramedics working on her body while she watched from above. |
| Oh pp here again. My grandmother passed away years before I got married and had DS. One day he crawled over to a picture my mom had of her and started giggling and laughing and babbling to the picture (like he had seen her). Then one morning after a particular rough night (teething yay!) DS got up earlier than normal and DH and I both were exhausted. He was crying and whining in his crib and standing up waiting for us. I closed my eyes and just said "please grandma, if you can hear me and your are there, please comfort him for a little bit so we can get a little bit more sleep. Just 20 min is all i ask". A couple of minutes later I hear DS giggling and babbling and I look at the monitor and he's standing up, staring at something by the wall and "talking" to it. About 5 min later he went back to sleep for about an hour and a half. |

I have always thought my childhood home was haunted and my family always said I was a paranoid fraidy cat. Me and all of my siblings, and now my mom, have all had terribly frightening nightmares living there. Demons, ghosts, etc. all related to the house. I have not had any nightmares like I have when I'm there.
One time I woke up with a blue light in the corner of my room but thought it was the light on the front of my laptop. Woke up and laptop wasn't there. I really tried to make sense of it but still can't. I've always just had a "bad" feeling in the house depsite living there for 20 something years. My family was the first to live in it so I can't explain it. I still don't like to be there by myself and do not feel that way in my current home. |
Same poster here, I should mention friends staying over experience the same terrible nightmares. A friend was there by herself (she lived there for a short time) and heard a thud upstairs. Went to the stairs to investigate and heard it again louder. She ran out of the house and drove away and called my sister hysteical (I was right beside my sister and thought someone died). She called the police and they went to check it out but found no one there, although there's a chance they ran when she drove away. But I doubt anyone could have been in there, nothing was taken or disturbed. That always freaked me out as it didn't happen again. |

Stories I have heard recently:
Neighbor's mom died last year, and a couple of weeks later, a canary landed on her porch when neighbor was outside and feeling downhearted. She felt extreme peace from this and the bird's visit lasted a couple of hours. She likes to think it was her mom comforting her. I was caring for a dying patient who had been comatose for over a week at this point, when all of a sudden her daughter walked over to her, told her "it was time to go with God, mom", the lady opened her eyes, had a faraway, but overjoyed look on her face, glanced at her daughter, and passed away right there. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it all right before me. |
| When I was in college, 4 of my friends, including an ex-boyfriend, were in a terrible car accident. 3 of them died within a few days of the accident. My ex hung on for 3 weeks. He died 21 days after the accident. The night before he died, the ghost of one of my friends who died, appeared in my bedroom. He said that he wanted to tell me that "John" was going to die and that it was okay. I sort of stuttered and he repeated that it was all okay. John died about 6 hours later. |

My grandfather died when my dad was 11. The night before he died my dad was in bed. A voice came out of the darkness and said "Do not be afraid. this is angel x. Your dad is going to die tomorrow, and you will have to be the man of the house."
I lived in that same house until I graduated from college. One morning when I was in high school, I saw a "man" wearing a white button down, tan pants, and a tie waving to me. I thought that it was my brother at first, but then I realized that he was still sleeping as I was the first one up to shower. I was scared out of my mind while in the shower. I kept peeking out from behind the curtain. I still think about it sometimes when I'm up early, it's dark out, and I'm the only one up. I told my parents about what had happened at dinner that night. My dad told me that's the description of what his father wore to work everyday. He died in 1959, and I "saw" him in 1990. At least he was friendly. It still freaked me out. |
| I woke up in the middle of the night when I was in college, crying because my grandma said goodbye in my dream. My dad called that morning to say that she had passed away from a stroke. |
| Yes, my ex wife is paranormal. Actually, she's not normal at all. |
| Great stories, thanks for sharing them PP's! |
