Calling All Millionaires!

Because billionaires number, what, like fifty in the world? Probably not on DCUM either.

Are there no rich people on DCUM? If so, come on out! I feel lonely.

Ok, we pull in 7 figures a year. What is the point of this thread? Did you also just post about your husband who leaves out cheese?

Yeah, that's me. And FWIW, I've been obnoxious even before the $ came in! ^__^ So don't blame the money.

Are you planning on retiring early?

I am now taking an extended maternity leave (going on 11 months) but as an RN I was pulling in about 120K (depending on overtime) so it was pretty much all DH. I plan on going back to work in another 6-9 months and will probably go down to part-time until DS is school aged (so maybe 60K a year) and then will arrange my shifts back to full time so that DH and I split child care duties once DS is in school full time. I realize that my salary will mean nothing when I go part time since we will be employing a nanny, but I think it is important for me to get back into the line of work so I can go full time when DS is older.

Oh and yes, DH plans to retire when he is 40-45 and will probably do some sort of hobby/something that makes a lot less money to keep himself busy. (this has been a goal of his since he was apparently 14). I have no idea when I'll retire.

Time to stop using the word "millionaire," Ellie Mae.

I'm not. I checked, there is no millionaire next door to me either.

Yeah, right? It doesn't mean much, since home equity can push you over the line and that can be all one has. I guess one needs to talk specific numbers, like over $5 mil, over $20 mil, HHNW, over $50 mil, whatever.

OK. Other than me and the maternity leave lady, there doesn't seem to be anyone else out there. Oh well. I suspected as much.

A lot are probably working or being more productive than me. DS is currently walking around the living room with his push toy and I'm sitting here updating DCUM when I have about 100 other things I should be doing...

OP here. I didn't ask the prior question, but I would agree that you should keep occupied with something meaningful. You don't have to kill yourself, and it doesn't necessarily have to be lucrative, but definitely having something that gets you out the door on a regular basis is good for the soul.
