Beats millions of unwanted babies being brought into the world. But the truly sick thing is the idea that women have no rights at all to decide whether to give birth, at any point. I’m sorry that you grieve all of those potential humans. I don’t. I do grieve the women whose lives have been lost, whose futures were shattered, or who struggle daily because they couldn’t get access to abortion easily when they needed it.

Ditto. And I agree further because it’s been imposed on them by people who will never be impacted or understand what they have done. Nor do they care to understand.

Millions of living, breathing WOMEN who were safely able to end their pregnancy.

Millions of WOMEN who weren't forced to continue a pregnancy or give birth against their will.

Millions of WOMEN who were able to make medical decisions with their doctors without religious fanatics forcing their beliefs on them.

If you believe in god, god killed 3 of my babies by miscarriage. You want to save babies? Pump money into preventing the 25% of pregnancies that end in miscarriage. God is a far more prolific killer of fetuses than abortion doctors.

This is the most favorable it will be for a while for democrats. They haven't expanded the court and they will do nothing in response to this ruling other than bloviate

What would you suggest Democrats do instead at this point?

There is no right to an abortion in the U.S. Constitution. Assuming this is simply "women's health" per se, all health laws are matters of state law. Hence, each state has its own abortion law. What do democrats do? Work within our democratic process to get state abortion laws you want. Just like was done very recently in NY, attempted in VA. You vote, and you lobby to get the state laws you want. If you don't like your state, you move.

There was no right to abortion because every state/colony allowed it at the time so there was no need. Any abortion restriction would have been completely unenforceable anyway, since you have to violate so many rights to privacy to prove that it happened. Abortion has always been around. The Roe vs Wade made the choice that it was better to codify it as legal rather than have millions of women doing it illegally and possibly dieing or being harmed. That’s where the equal protection clause in the 14th amendment applied since men faced no such restriction.

How is enforceable now in reality? The motivation to not continue with an unwanted pregnancy is very strong with very good reason. It just goes underground again. So backwards and ridiculous to revisit the right to safe and legal abortions.

I'm a woman. MOST women out of the 60+ million who aborted their babies werent forced to have sex, get pregnant, and have medical issues. Many of those women need to think smarter and quit using abortion as a means to get rid of a baby.

Sorry, you don't get to insert yourself into a decision between a woman and her doctor. You don't get to force your will on women's bodies.

This is simply false. There are federal laws regulating abortion already.

No one is forcing you to have an abortion.

I am a man. My wife had to have an abortion after finding out that our very wanted child would have significant medical issues and countless surgeries to survive, with no possible quality of life. I am thankful my wife did not have to take the pregnancy to term.

I don’t feel the need to impose my morality on others, and I especially find it reprehensible that most of the laws that will come after this ruling will not allow exceptions for rape, incest, or medical reasons.

No you most certainly are not. Of course, the abortions will continue.

But the battle is on to return this as a fundamental legal right to all our daughters. They don't have to exercise it but they must hold it.

Curious how you feel that you are not forcing your will on others when these laws will become effective. You will have removed their access to a safe, necessary medical procedure. You make their choice more difficult, dangerous, and expensive, with many of these state laws adding punitive measures to try and keep people from going out of state. With no acknowledgment or empathy for circumstances that you haven’t personally experienced, just because you think “most women” who get abortions are carefree sluts who get regretful.
