The “I love you” stuff was literally a recycled storyline about Samantha and Richard. And her penis pump plot in an earlier episode was also written for Samantha for the original show but didn’t end up getting used. It shows how badly the show was treating the Samantha character and how talented Cattrall was to pull it off with aplomb and still be beloved. |
l I was hoping for it. Would have been more interesting. |
| Steve’s dentures are killing me. Love the guy, it’s better when he’s quiet. |
Same. Assumed it would prevent her from selling it. |
| I seem to be in the minority here but I love Nya and LTW, and I think Seema is interesting / fine. I think the writers are totally not doing them justice. There is so much more they can do!! Especially Nya— I feel like my TV (and my face) light up when she’s on the screen. She has an adorable, mischievous, sexy energy that would have been perfect for the original SATC. I feel similarly for LTW. Also, I totally don’t get how anyone can think that LTW’s husband seems shady! Chris Jackson is adorable with the voice of an angel (The OG George Washington from Hamilton)! |
I actually do like Nya but I’m just not getting enough from her. Not the actress (who is wonderful) but from the writing. They have spread themselves thin trying to focus on too many characters and while the original cast can fall back on what was already established in satc I don’t think they did the new characters justice |
| Yes, I wish they would get rid of Che and focus on the other 3 newbies. I only like Che when she's sharing the screen with an animal from the vet clinic. And if they cannot find anything more interesting for Seema to share, maybe get rid of her too. I want to see more of Nya and LTW! |
I love Nya and Seema! They both seem funny, smart, and weird, in different ways. I love the word mischievous for Nya - also arrogant and bold, and I'm into it! LTW is one of the most stunning people I have ever seen - I am just sort of bored by her storyline. |
| I think the problem is that SATC was criticised for being too white/straight, so they tried to remedy it by bringing in more diverse characters. Then they are criticised because the diverse characters either don’t fit into the story or aren’t in the story enough. But it’s difficult for the creators because SATC was originally about the 4 women and then any men that they were in relationships with were the secondary characters. There weren’t really any friendships outside the core group except for Stanford. It is perfectly realistic for each of the women to have other close friends based on their lives - Charlotte and Lisa, Miranda and Nya, Carrie and Seema (I don’t really get Carrie and Che but whatever) but the friends all together haven’t really formed a cohesive group. And then there are too many of them to really develop stories. If you think about the original SATC, each episode focused on one or two of the characters and something happening in their lives. If there are now 3 main characters and 5 additional very important characters (Lisa, Nya, Che, Seema, Anthony) plus various husbands/boyfriends/kids (Aiden, Harry, Steve, Lily, Rock, Brady) we now have 14 main characters to build stories around.. and it’s too many and we don’t feel like any of them are being properly developed. |
| I love Nya and LTW as well. I love when Nya grumbles about her ex, Andre. Like when she got the baby shower invite and said, “I knew I over emojieed his Instagram post.” I was dying! I also loved her sexy playfulness with the chef. I want more Nya!!!!! |
Uh, she’s in car in great lighting (film in upstate NY btw) so of course she looks good! |
The stain goes back to AJLT season 1 when she was going to sell through Seema to buy the downtown condo with the beeping noise. See a says “I’ll have some tomorrow to fix that” ( if you sign with me). I think these are meant to be Easter eggs for diehard viewers |
| For those of you complaining about the writers not getting this season right, you need to know that Cynthia Nixon served as exec producer in both AJLT series and also directed three of the episodes in both series. Writers just write. And great directors often throw their stuff away. See Kubrick. It’s the exec directors and directors who are supposed to have a creative vision and carry it out. If the writers don’t deliver, the directors throw their stuff away, fire them, rehire and try again |
Well then, they are all rubbish if you ask me. I just like watching so I can bust on it later. Carrie: nobody cares that you are finally giving up your apartment (although before its makeover it was one of the only things that kept Carrie human). The characters are all just a vomit pit of wealth and privilege constantly. Which makes them and the show super one dimensional. I hope she loses it all in having to pay Big’s back taxes. |
My only surprise is that she actually sold it instead of renting it to jewelry designer girl until she found a place. I never thought she was going to sell it. By the way, can you fit a table for 16 in a studio apartment? |
