Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread

The middle class 2-fed Red Line outskirts family. The Georgetown prep / our lady of mercy family. The Burning Tree family with someone who fled west to get away. The immigrant family whose kids made it all the way to the Elite college only to be on the fringes.

I knew more than a few guys growing up who did stuff, cleaned up their act, and avoided the consequences. Lawyers, doctors, CEOs.

But they didn’t decide to pursue the highest court in the land.

These 36 years, he’s thought a million times about whether he could make it all the way despite his youthful indiscretions. Based on what he saw among his peers, like mine, he convinced himself he could. He also saw Clarence Thomas make it, Bill Clinton up close. Trump. He wasn’t as bad as any of them, so he felt even more safe.

He wasn’t.

Now, using a combination of their playbooks, he’s going for broke. With a Senate majority that’s a couple generations behind the woke, a polarized electorate, and a president without shame. He’s oh so close.

But for the sake of all the boys and girls, and men and women, wondering if it’s OK to be this way, and further to lie about it, he must go down. There are too many opposite examples and we can’t have this one more. Not this one.

Well said.

Anonymous wrote:The comments here are disgusting. You condemn a man, based on flimsy allegations, criticize his wife, his parents, AND his children. You say we cannot question the backgrounds or the motives of the accusers because that would be “victim shaming” even though their backgrounds raise serious questions about their motives.

You all nauseate me. The comments here are disgusting and reveal the true depth of the liberal mind. The fact that you convict, yes, convict this man based on no evidence shows you have learned nothing from the Duke case or the UVA case. I read oner the thread on the UVA case and some of the same types of comments were found there. Sickening.

You automatically believe the woman because, #MeToo. You don’t acknowledge that women sometimes lie and get things wrong. Oh, but we can’t say that because, “I believe her.”

Last night, it was revealed that two men have come forward with statements that they believe Ford has confused Kavanaugh for them. We’ll see what happens with these claims as the day goes on.

Sounds as if some of the people who post here have major issues based on past experiences and are projecting THEIR experiences and holding Kavanaugh responsible for them. That’s not how things work. You need to get help.

If only there were a federal agency that did investigations.

There is. One that investigates federal crimes like kidnapping or terrorism.
These allegations don’t fit that.
Hey - maybe if you can find someone to bring an allegation of kidnapping against Kavanaugh you can get that FBI investigation.

WHOOSH

You're not very good at detecting sarcasm, are you? It doesn't have to be kidnapping. The FBI investigation is within the scope of the background investigation of the nominee. New allegations have been brought to light--the investigation should be reopened.

What these women are accusing him of are crimes. The FBI does not investigate sexual assault. They have done 6 background investigations. Nothing came up.

So when something does come up, the FBI should ignore it? Ya, that’s not how it works.

Here's a little hint:
Montgomery County Police Department.

Here’s a little hint: Yale is in Connecticut.

Georgetown Prep is in Montgomery County, MD.

There are no girls at Georgetown Prep. I think the campus was safe from Mark and Brett’s shenanigans.

Why is the third accuser left off? Aren't we supposed to #BelieveWomen?

Spot on! This applies perfectly to DCUMs favorite sock puppet troll, too.

Now HER story is falling apart. Enough already.

Brett should really just resign for the good of the country. He can’t be a legitimate justice at this point. If he gets on the bench, the court will forever be diminished.

So Ford, the most credible of the accusers, won't release her relevant therapist's notes which she has put forth as evidence (at least evidence that in 2012 she claimed someone assaulted her), but did release her polygraph results. The polygraph consisted of two questions:

1. Is any part of your written statement false?
2. Did you make up any part of your statement?

Is this for real? No baseline questions? No questions about the events alleged? Just 2 broad questions and a handwritten, hand edited, un-notarized statement?

Crazy. And, her written statement conflicts with the letter sent to Feinstein.

Here is what the SJC has been doing while some of you folks have been spreading rumors here on DCUM:

Two men say they, not Brett Kavanaugh, had alleged sexual encounter with Christine Ford

Look up the John Tower nomination. The FBI went back and investigated his drinking again after the allegations emerged. Nomination pulled.

It's pretty laughable at this point to think that he would withdraw for the good of the country. He was appointed by a coward with bone spurs. These people have no honor at all.

"Avenatti is the lawyer that Trump wishes he had.
His trolling skills are off the charts. He shut down Dershowitz, and almost made Tucker Carlson cry on his own show."

LOL, so true.

Avenatti will be revealed to be a total fraud in this case. He stepped too far. Give it a few days.

The victim signed a sword affidavit - she has multiple security clearances. She has ricked her career. If she is lying, it isn't his fault, but yes, he would look bad. Is it Cohen's fault that Trump lied to him? Is it John Dowd's fault that Trump lied to him?

Avenatti will be shown to be over-reaching a bit on this one. His client has a restraining order in her past for threatening to kill a man, his wife and baby girl, and he doesn't seem to know anything about it. Plus, her story would have been more believable if she had said 1 or 2 parties. Going to 10 parties where women were raped and not a single girl trying to rescue her friend, calling in their older brother's gang of friends to help, calling any adult or police and no one ever telling or reporting any of it? That is ridiculous. I graduated high school in '82 and there is no way we would have let our girlfriend get raped at 10 different parties while people waited in line and not called in other boyfriends, brothers, etc., to come intervene.
