He did not. The media took it out of context, he was not even speaking about her.

That doesn’t really matter. If Australian law is anything like US on this point, if you authorize someone to sign documents on your behalf, you are agreeing to be responsible for why they sign, represent, etc. If you allow someone to use your signature who is going to flagrantly lie in your name, that is on you.

So why is Oz government not using that angle to deport him? Why are they claiming he is a public threat and incites the antivax sentiment?

I thought they were using the angle of an incorrectly completed application form.

The "close the borders" sentiment has been huge in Australia and is still operating in NZ. People get riled up by the fact that their relatives haven't been allowed in and out while exceptions have been made for cricket and rugby teams, DJs, singers, actors and so on. They are societies where they don't see anyone famous as any better to the average citizen, so don't react well to tennis players being able to ignore the rules. The NZ mother of a New York based friend died this week, and he is not going back because under the current rules he wouldn't be out of government isolation until 3 or so weeks from now, even under the best case scenario. He would need to apply to the government for a special emergency exemption to enter his own country, then arrange flights, then stay in a quarantine hotel for a minimum of 10 days. Many are having to stay in quarantine longer if exposed to omicron while traveling. It is unfair to the rest of the family to hold up his mother's funeral for that long.

I'm not crying any tears over tennis players' self-made problems.

I’m intrigued by the details of his PCR tests. I wish the facts would come out explaining why his positive PCR test on 12/16 seems to have been entered in the database AFTER his neg PCR test on 12/22.

Because it was conveniently doctored by a Serbian quack. The funny thing about all this is why this clown didn’t just get an exemption from some quack doctor saying he’s allergic to the vaccination

Because that would make him pro vaccine and he is exactly the opposite. And SILL standing by it.

Ends up, being anti-vax is like a religion for him. It's even above his very habitus: to be the best tennis player of all times.

Maybe to avoid jail time or the three year ban?

Cool story, but that still doesn't explain why the rest of the world hates him too.
Learned behavior as well?

The rest of the world doesn't hate him. He is loved and respected in Asia and India and in the Middle East.

Lies. Most people are wary of Serbians. Their culture has demonstrated racism to the point of ethnic cleansing. There are so many examples of Djokovic’s racist comments over the years. People are fervently either for Rafa or Fed but both groups oppose Djoker.
