Why aren't we talking about Novak Djokovic

He is a Serb nationalist and has recently taken up with other Serb nationalists in Bosnia. He openly salutes the general who committed genocide in Bosnia. He is also well known for believing in wild conspiracy theories.

Serbs can cry all they want about how this is just more Serb hating but if they just once separate themselves as a nation from assholes like this maybe they would change the narrative.

Thank you

Serbia is making him out to be their national hero and interpreting any negativity towards him as an insult to Serbia. They are the ones conflating their country with Djokovic. Most other people are trying to treat him as his own person. Maybe some people have anti-Serb sentiment, but plenty of people like me aren’t from “western” countries, have no particular prejudices towards Serbia as a whole, and still find his individual behavior appalling.

And unless you just started watching tennis, you know that barely a decade ago, there were multiple Serbian players near the top of tennis rankings who all had gritty, heartstring-tugging stories of growing up under NATO bombings and having to practice under grim conditions, so you could look at their reputations and see what is attributable to them being Serbian versus their personality and actions. Ana Ivanovic for one was a much beloved Grand Slam champion/No1, especially in Australia.

Justice served. Maybe he will think twice next time he tries to overstep the laws in other countries

But, he didn't overstep them. It was acknowledged that he entered legally. If he was not detained he would be one of the many that entered with the same exemption. Then he was blamed for exciting anti-vax sentiment, which in the court yesterday the lawyer for the Minister said was started when he was detained.

He knowingly gave false answers on his visa. Done.

He didn't deported him because of that, they did it because of a BBC article and based on that they concluded that he is a bad influence.

Yes that’s a cool angle to keep spinning

DP. I watched the whole thing, and that is what the judges said. That the Minister doesn't have to prove his reasons just that he has reasons and that it doesn't matter if Djokovic does hold any particular views, just that he is perceived to hold these views.

I dont know but why is he hugging and singling with Dodik? Why is he associating with Milan Jolovic. Nationalism in the Balkans never made any logical sense. Why would it start to make sense now?

Signed,

Half Serb, half Bosniac

But, that is for the sake of bringing the world CIVILIZATION!

Go away Serb bot. You seem to pop up everywhere. Like a whack a mole

Team Rafa, but I’ve always enjoyed watching Djokovic and Federer.

Still want the details on the positive PCR test and why it appeared to be entered in the system 10 days after the test was supposedly taken. If the test was falsified, that’s incredibly low.

It's hard to be sympathetic and give him the benefit of the doubt in this situation because he has shown us time and again that he's an entitled, selfish and ruthless person who seems to rarely face consequences because of his athletic ability. People don't like him, and rightfully so I say. Guess it finally caught up with him.

A selfish person?
€1 million donation to buy medical equipment to combat the coronavirus in 2020 in his native Serbia,
€1 million to Italian hospitals to combat the coronavirus,
an unspecified amount to Spain to combat the coronavirus,
$3.3 million: prize money for the winner of the singles competition at the 2022 Australian Open,
an unspecified amount for poor children at the Melbourne City Mission,
$25,000 Donation after Australia’s 2019 bushfires....

Kyorgios might be the only Australian who remembers this and refuses to see ND as a person with a bad character.

I noticed you didn't dispute that he is entitled and ruthless.
