ICS rules
G. Hair 1) Students are expected to have clean and neatly groomed hair. 2) Students will refrain from hair styles and colors that are distracting or draw undue attention. 3) The administration reserves the right to determine the acceptability of hair style and color. I. Expulsion Attendance at ICS is a privilege. Any students whose conduct or attitude in or out of school shows him to be in opposition to the basic principles and purposes of the school or who maliciously destroys school property will be dismissed or asked to withdraw from the school. if they don't expel her they are basically saying that lying is a conduct that is not in opposition to the basis principles being taught. honor code violations... 27. Honor Code The most important elements governing my behavior are God’s commands that I love Him above all things and that I love my neighbor as myself. If I obey these I cannot fail to live a decent, honorable life and accept responsibility for my actions. It is important to remember that this honor code applies to my behavior at all school activities, whether before, during or after school hours. I will remember that I represent Christ, my family, and this school wherever I go, and will act accordingly. To accomplish this I will: A. Be Respectful (Romans 12:10; Luke 6:31; Ephesians 4:32) 1) Treat others as I would like to be treated. 2) Respect the property of the school and of others. 3) Willingly obey those in authority. 4) Use appropriate language and actions at all times. 5) Use active listening skills. 28 B. Be Responsible (Titus 3:8; Colossians 3:17) 1) Conduct myself in a safe and responsible manner. 2) Work and play cooperatively. 3) Participate willingly in activities and chores. 4) Complete assignments on time and to the best of my ability. 5) Display an attitude of gratitude. C. Be Reliable (Ephesians 4:29; proverbs 12:22) 1) Accept the responsibility for doing my own work. 2) Be honest and tell the truth at all times. 3) Accept responsibility for my actions. By God’s grace and the truth of His word, I will uphold the honor code of Immanuel Christian School. My goal is that my life be a reflection of the Lord Jesus Christ. |

She should be expelled.
And several reporters fired. If not, no one will trust the media or any black accuser next time. |
That horse has left the barn. Faith in media is at an all time low, and with good reason. Local media is better than national media, but as we see here, there is still reason to be skeptical of stories they run. This is the age of #FakeNews. I think that #FakeNews should be Time's "person" of the year. |
I'm sure they had no clue that Mrs. Pence worked there as a PT Art teacher, either. Small world, ain't it?!! |
Agreed |

INFOtainment.
if it bleeds it leads. its all about grabbing your attention quick blurb, no real investigation. then on to the next story... i watch local news from about 520am-6am. for the weather and traffic. everything else they report is garbage and useless.and its not just one network. it used to be fox was the national enquirer of the airways. but they all do it now.. |
Apparently you did not read this thread. |
| All of this is school yard crap that should be hashed out there not in the national spotlight. She lied. Big deal. If the boys had done what she said they had done -- also big deal. Let kids deal wit these things themselves. |
Tell that to the racist media industrial complex. |
They are both, in fact, VERY "big deals." |
The school and the police are not the ones who put this news out there. The grandparents, the girl and their family friend, the reporter, put this in the public eye. Maybe ask them why they chose to do that. Now that the truth is out, of course, they are nowhere to be seen. Amazing how that works, right? As far as I know the boys that were wrongfully accused and their parents have stayed low from the get go. The school has handled this whole thing with a great deal of tact. |
| I really feel sorry for the family of the boys in this situation. I'm sure parents had initial doubts about whether their sons were telling them the truth about the incident. |
| I read somewhere that the girl had some sort of conflict with the boys, but the incident as described did not take place. I think there is some pain there, to see the girl on TV react as she did, although this of course in no way would excuse lying on the boys. |

Too bad no one in the media said, "That's not news." But then again, a few weeks ago Fox 5 local news reported that mac n cheese was not being sold as a side dish at Chic Fil A.
I could not believe they had nothing else to "report." Someone without any ideas and on a deadline must have been sitting in the drive through waiting for their order that day. |
Lots of kids lie. Lots of kids bully other kids. End of story. |
