Moco also once had a lot of things. Recently the BOE approved diversity busing to correct this. Accept it or move.

The BoE did no such thing.

Seriously, why do you keep posting this?

This poster's ignorance is showing again--it's based on where you live. If you don't find that a particular school has the exact mix of people whom you think should be there, go to another one. Pigs will fly before kids from Wheaton are bused to Churchill.

+1. Not going to happen.

L
Would the Wheaton kids want to be bussed to Churchill?

Opposed to going to Wheaton, of course they would

PP is out of touch as to why a boundary study has been approved by the BOE for the entire county. The resistance to change and lack of appreciation for diversity is why Churchill has a national distinction as being the "N Word Pass School". Not something to be proud of. Not something the current BOE will ignore.

The wealthy segregationists simply wish to maintain their advantages and privilege at everyone else's expense. The BOE is on this and things are finally changing for the better.

change?

lol

People move. Or, they opt for private. Money talks.

I feel sorry for students in Japan, China and other countries with little racial diversity. These students will never be able to learn empathy and understanding.

Bad example. I lived in Japan for a while and it was the most racist place I've ever been.

Kids self-segregate, too.

There will be little to no mixing if this measure is enforced.

Says someone who does not go to a racially diverse high school.

Adults self segregate and teach their children to disrespect the differences that they have little appreciation or understanding of. PP's comment is a throw back to the ideas of the 1960s white flight fear during desegregation.

I was a product of the benefits of busing to achieve racial diversity in the 1970s. I knew students as friends, not because of the street they lived on or the color of their skin but because of their character and intellect. My school did not have the racist comments that students at Churchill feel free to spout off to other students.

I hope PP is not a member of the Churchill community. If he/she is, the viewpoint would explain many of the serious problems in our community.

If you want the kids to have friends based on their character and intellect, instead of the street they lived on or the color of skin, then why keep talking about what ratio of different races is the "right" one in schools? Can't we just let it be as long as there is no deliberate measures aimed at discriminating against certain races from the policy makers?

You’re crazy or naive, I too went to a diverse high school in the early 90s and we had so many people throwing around the N word, drawing swastikas and dicks everywhere they could and girls getting there their tops ripped off and asses smacked. Fights daily, drugs, drugs everywhere along with poor people acting rich and rich kids acting poor. Blair sucked then and it still kind of sucks

Lots of us survived but lots failed too. This utopia you speak of doesn’t exist, you were clearly a girl and oblivious.

Also couldn’t quotas cut both ways? What if someone said the school shouldn’t have more than the state level of blacks? But too many white people or Asians is a problem? At what point do we also address the elephant in the room of why things with too many African Americans fail.

You're saying that you know more about the top PP's high school experience than the top PP.

Who said anything about quotas?

How else we decide which schools are too white and need to be punished ?

Saying the school is not "diverse" enough, is effectively suggesting "quotas". Otherwise, based on what do people say that?

Or, maybe suggesting a school should have more than a certain percent of AA or Hispanics is not called "quota", only when you say it should have more than a certain percent of White or Asians, then it is called "quota"?

If your school has one white kid, it deserved to be punished.

We are aiming at ethnic cleansing here, you clueless PP.
