Good job. Now look at the out of state teams Loudoun Red has played. Those are the quality of teams we play. That should clear things up for you on why FCV is a step down for us. |
One win does not mean you are better. Loudoun Black also beat McLean but McLean beat Loudoun Red. Does that mean Loudoun Black is better then Loudoun Red? Rankings are not that useful. Loudoun 06 is ranked above FCV 06. Are they a better team? Absolutely not! |
Anyone want to see some quality girls soccer FCV DA is playing Arlington DA at Evergreen this Saturday 12 (U13) and 2 (U14) and 4 (U15). |
Talk about a lack of credibility. Took one day to disprove this message - “It doens't surprise me that the FCV posters are silent. Why would they need to be loud about it; they just want to pick off a few of the players that they target. They don't need to convince a bunch of Loudoun parents on this forum that they are a better option, and this is definitely not the place to even have that conversation. It's just not how they work.” |
I'm right about baseball, right? If you feel the need to take shots at a club that your kid doesn't play for, has never played for, and doesn't ever plan to play for, you're certainly insecure about something. |
But the argument was that FCV 07 is so bad that they need sweeping changes to be competitive against top teams. OK, let's assume that rankings are not useful and their No.3 ranking does not mean anything, but nobody seems to argue that McLean is not a top team. It would seem that even with current pre-DA roster FCV can compete against top teams, such as McLean. It is a bit strange that Loudoun folks try to paper over abysmal performance of the club in ECNL by pointing to No. 1 state ranking of their 07 pre-ECNL team and then complain that FCV's pre-DA team's no.3 state ranking does not mean anything. |
|
I guess you did not bother to look at the teams Loudoun Red 07 has played. That’s our standard. It will help you better understand where we are coming from. FCV is just not interesting to us.
We will come post on the FCV threads when we start caring about your team. Your posts on this board are starting to look pathetic and desperate. |
| A lot of former Loudoun's ECNL players are with Washington Spirit DA now. |
Aimee - when did they join Spirit DA? This is the first year Loudoun has had ECNL. You probably mean former Loudoun, not former Loudoun ECNL. Loudoun 07 will be the first year for deciding between staying for ECNL or leaving. |
But you lost to McLean and you lost in WAGs tournament, right? It's not like Loudoun are the world beaters so stop bragging about the quality of teams that keep beating you! |
Yes and yes. We finally get to the heart of it. Loudoun Red does not run away from playing the very best teams, even if we lose. FCV does. FCV would rather enter their top team in the second bracket of second rate tournaments so that they get a trophy. We would rather play again the best teams from Ohio, MD or Texas. Even if we lose. We call that development. That is why FCV is not for us. |
If you are looking for development, Loudoun might not be the right club for you. How many youth national team call ups did Loudoun players get in any age group? Do Loudoun teams do well in ECNL? I am still looking for evidence of their player development. |
Once again you turn to the wins without seeing the landscape when those teams were formed. To us it’s not about the trophies, the wins or how many YNT call ups we have. Those are accolades. We care more about the level of competition for our players. Not for who came through the club 4 years ago. We feel good if our girls play well against quality teams. We feel good when they solve challenges or improve their play even if they lose. When we see what FCV has done with the 07s we know that the culture there is about wins and collecting trophies. We would be upset if the club pulled us from WAGS to sandbag a lesser tournament for a trophy. You guys are happy because you get the wins! You want evidence of our development, look to us making the finals in WAGS. If you see that and think FCV 07 did a better job developing the same age group because they won the second bracket of a no name tournament and we lost the finals in WAGS top bracket, then you have your answer. FCV prioritizes wins over development. Loudoun does the opposite. Sounds like you are in the right club for you. So are we. |
You need not look any further for Loudoun’s player development than the current FCV DA teams considering the number of former Loudoun players that are on those rosters. Loudoun does a good enough job that FCV is on this board now recruiting like they have always done. Former Loudoun kids outnumber the FCV kids on the 06 DA team and yet Loudoun’s 06 ECNL team still beat FCVs DA team in WAGS this year with a “weaker” roster”. |
| And with all this development Loudoun has the worst record in ECNL among Virginia clubs. At some point development must translate into wins. If it does not, development mantra is an excuse for incompetence. Loudoun' performance in ECNL shows that the only thing the club developed is the culture of losing. |
