Loudoun Struggles in ECNL

Anonymous
I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here. Some will choose to defect based on the DA v ECNL debate. Some will choose to stay because they like the coach and development where they are, while the competition is similar. I think to the extent players/parents see the DA as the destination of choice, there will be defections to FCV. This will only be the biggest and/or fastest kids, as FCV won't put slower but technical kids on their DA team. I don't think many will choose to be a perennial DP player for FCV, but you never know.

Forget FCV? FCV DA seems to be the biggest reason Loudoun ECNL is struggling.

Didn't Loudoun have departures for Washington Spirit DA as well?

Yes. Spirit DA is another viable option for Loudoun players.

Didn't someone just post yesterday(?) that FCV 07 just beat McLean 3-0? Not sure it is a 'step down'.

Also after getting beat 3 times FCV 07 got the rep that they were avoiding Loudoun in tournaments and league play. If you wanted to impress Loudoun why didn’t FCV join CCL and take us on? Why not join tourneys we play in and play us?

It is for Loudoun when they have never lost to FCV and hold a positive goal differential of 16 or something ridiculous.

The goal differential is 21-0 in 3 games

Well, FCV is not in WAGS this weekend, that kinda speaks for itself.

The differential is actually 22-1 and they once tied Loudoun Black 0-0, but yeah, Loudoun kids and parents will flock to FCVs 07 team.

Right, because it's all about the tournaments you play.

If current FCV 07 team isn’t very good, I imagine FCV 07 DA next year will draw heavily from other teams including Loudoun.

If history is any guide next year FCV team will be good and Loudoun team will be not so good.

That’s not how it works.

And with DCU moving within the walking distance from Loudoun's training fields, I expect that Loudoun's boys program will start losing their best players to DCU too.

That's how it worked for the 05s. And Loudoun's 05s were a hell of a lot better than their 07s.

You do know that you are talking to Loudoun 07 parents right? You are trying to tell us what we are going to do. LOL!

Just curious, are you a spokesperson for the entire team? Do you really know the minds of all your fellow parents?

I recall previous generations of folks like you who thought they’d stay Loudoun forever and then times changed and some players switched to FCV (or other options) and never looked back.

Are you really, really sure everyone else’s blood bleeds as red black and white as yours???

-not an FCV’er
