I would vote for anyone other than Trump...but why would not a Jewish successful businessman with a heart win in a America which voted for a conman who played businessman in TV? |
But the title of this thread is "Which Dem can win general election in 2020?", not "Which Dem do you want to win the general election in 2020?" I don't care if the candidate is white, if the candidate is old, or if the candidate is a man. I want the Democratic candidate most likely to defeat Trump. |
And my argument is Biden has serious baggage to do that. I am not saying that I would not vote for Biden if he is the Democratic candidate. I love Biden - but I would prefer a different winnable candidate. |
I watched a Biden speech recently. He looks older and slowed down a bit. I don't think he has the energy for a campaign. I really want someone young and energetic. |
I pointed the same issues (age and baggage) a couple of posts back. I would really like Michelle and Beto to be a winning ticket. |
I'm really liking the idea of Amy Klobuchar. |
Biden/Beto. |
Senator Tester. I’m quite serious. |
Which of you will vote for Michelle? |
I would. |
Interesting how pretty much every thing that could be said about Beto could be said about Stacey Abrams- she came ridiculously close in a deeply red state AND she did it against the headwinds of outright corruption. And yet, no one is suggesting she run. Hmmm, wonder why that is. (I know the answer.) |
I admire Michelle Obama as a wonderful wife and mother (who happens to be married to the perfect man), and she is extremely personable and well educated, but what qualifications does she have to be President? Serious question, not a slam. |
I wouldn't be surprised if the eventual nominee is not mentioned in this thread at all. Remember, hardly anybody had ever heard of Barack Obama until he spoke at the 2004 Democratic Convention. |
I'd argue she's more qualified than the current president. I don't see her running, though. She made it pretty clear over the course of her husband's terms that she disliked presidential politics and living in the White House bubble. |
That much is true. |
