Be an honest person, work hard, and obey the laws. Not hard.

She is the type of a person who wants murderers get light sentences of ten years or less.

You’re right, I am. I don’t think retribution is the answer.

What do you think is the answer? How do we make sure these intelligent people with a life full of legitimate options stay on the right track? Would a good talking to make a difference do you think?

I think short sentences are plenty impactful. Especially on people like Holmes.

We have more than a few victims of those criminals who demonstrate an inability to obey laws and continue to harm others repeatedly after short sentences.

She stole almost a BILLION dollars through sheer lies and fraud.

WTH? Her children would be better off never knowing her.

She didn’t steal it. It didn’t go to her bank account. She used it to try to change the world. She lied, and she failed, but she didn’t steal.

She didn't use it to try to change the world. She used it to try to make people think she was the kind of person who could change the world. She used it to buy herself a massive costume. Did she evem have a legitimate idea in the first place?

Not just this. She was such a fraud that she and a few others tormented and terrorized people they thought were going to betray them with the truth. What kind of person is that prior poster? She knew she was a fraud and participated in aggressive and illegal intimidation of people who worked for her company. Stop trying to make her out to be some innocent kid with big dreams. She was a fraud who would go to dangerous lengths to maintain that fraud.

I wonder how they’ll cope. Will they not want the kids to see her in jail? Or will they expose them to prison waiting rooms? And will she try to claim some special circumstance to go to a “better” facility?

She was a fraud and corrupt individual for 15+ years you mean?

She deserves this sentencing - people died from falsified test results from her ‘invention’.

Hush if you don’t know what you’re talking about. NOBODY died. They couldn’t even find anyone who was physically harmed. The worst they were able to show at trial was that someone received a false negative pregnancy test and someone received bad blood work. That’s it. It really didn’t have major medical effects, only financial.

I do not believe this at all. She knew people were not getting cancer treatment because of her fake medical tests/devices. She didn't care one iota. Keep trying to minimize how evil this psycho is but the rest of us know better.

Does she still talk with the fake deep voice?

“ a woman who took a Theranos test was told she was miscarrying, when she was still pregnant. Other patients were given a false positive HIV test; and another was wrongly told to stop taking his blood thinning medication.”

People like Holmes? What kind of people do you think they are, exactly?

She didn’t try to change the world. She defrauded everyone in to thinking she had a novel medicine way to test blood. She stole a lot from the people who trusted her.

And what a psychopath for getting pregnant after she was convicted.

She seems insane. Snake oil salesman have always been around but she’s on a level of her own.

Holmes is a sociopath. I'm glad she's being put away for a long time. No one should be surprised , at all. The moment she was charged by the feds, the question wasn't whether she was going to end in jail but rather for how long she was going to be in jail. The feds conviction rate hovers around something like 97%. In other words , once they charge you with something , you're done.

Having said that , we must look at the eco system that allowed her to perpetuate this fraud for as long as she did . Any day she woke up and spewed her white lies was a day too many . The media, the investors and all other actors eager to buy into the myth of the "genius' are also responsible. I will never forget how some of us —the few of us— who were skeptical of her capabilities and the veracity of her claims were attacked right here on dcum by the ignorant, dumb and fawning crowd. Look where we are.

This! What kind of monster produces two children just to get a lighter prison sentence. It’s so disturbing.

I don’t doubt that getting pregnant was part of her strategy, but I also think she realized that she’s in her late 30’s and was facing a fairly long prison sentence. She’ll be 50 when she’s released. This was probably her last chance to have another baby without using a surrogate.

Still all about her. What she wants and the heck with what she does to other people.

Why doesn’t her sentencing start until April?
