Add in the benefits of affirmative action (and no....it doesn't help white women) in opening college doors, and we should have seen lots of improvement by now. If anything, it's gotten worse - and that's largely thanks to the skyrocketing out-of-wedlock births to young women who can't support their kids. Don't you think blacks have ANY responsibility? I mean, geez....look to the Asians and Jews, and see how well they've done by getting an education and not having babies without a husband. It's time to own up and admit that blacks bear at least some of the blame here.

Affirmative action has mostly benefited whites women. Blacks are doing better. What about 350 years of affirmative action for whites? Why didn't whites run std experiments on Asians? Or injection crack into poor Jewish neighborhoods?? Why were redlining tactics, which still happen today, focused on blacks? Why do blacks have to pay more money than others to live in nonblack neighborhoods?

1) Yes, two generations should be plenty - especially with the advantages of affirmative action, Pell grants, and other programs. Jews immigrated here to escape horrific religious persecution, with nothing more than a knapsack on their back and an 8th grade education, and a single generation later their kids are all college graduates.

2) Similar to above, most whites in this country cannot trace their lineage back 350 years. The "Mass Immigration" between 1882 and 1924 were poor, uneducated, persecuted minorities.

3) It's horrible that whites ran syphilis experiments on black men, but it was pretty damn bad when Christians marched 6 million Jews into gas chambers. Why have Jews been able to overcome that to succeed in society, and blacks like you are still blaming everyone else but themselves?

4) Blacks don't pay more to live in "non-black" neighborhoods, and whites didn't "inject" crack into black neighborhoods.

And after your entire rant, you still refuse to acknowledge that blacks living in poverty, generation after generation, have played a role in their situation. If the girls would stop having babies before they are married, they could break that cycle in one generation.

I would love to see the focus on academics that is so common in some Asian and Jewish communities, in my own (Black) community. And of course, the high numbers of out of wedlock births aren't helping the situation. However, societal ills always start in the most under served communities. But they eventually creep into White America. We're already seeing this with the opioid epidemic. After flooding Black communities with crack cocaine, then declaring a war on drugs, White America now has to deal with their opioid addicts and meth heads. Out of wedlock births are also on the rise for White women. You all better watch out. It's a slippery slope.

Thanks for letting is know that white people have "out of wedlock" children and commit crimes. The problem is the extent to which these issues impact black people. Why would anyone want to help you if you don't want to help yourself because you are in denial?

I lived in EL Paso, where white was minority. I was blatantly discriminated against in small and big ways. Small - service people being polite and doing their job - I was often ignored. Big - I was passed over being hired and had trouble getting a job when I was equally or more qualified. However, even though I brought these issues up, nothing was done.

I predict trying to achieve fairness and eliminate racism is a white value, and reverse discrimation will be rampant, with little regard for white people, because that's what I experienced already as a white minority.

You're right about the term discrimination. I was not alone in my experience, although I did use personal events to make a point. Within the white community of El Paso, many reported similar experiences. As a white person, I abhor racism, and I would never treat anyone differently because of race, whether it was a hiring decision or whether I needed to provide care for a person (I'm in the medical field) I speak up when I see racial injustice and don't tolerate it in my office. However, that kind of commitment to racial fairness was not reciprocated to me in El Paso. The fact that you denied my experience and minimized it shows that you don't think it was very important or real.
