I don't understand the second paragraph. Are you suggesting there is a unique practice of taking houses listed in Great Falls off the MLS, rather than showing them as under contract until closing? And what does that have to do with Pimmit Hills? |
Have you learned nothing? It's always about Pimmet hills! |
I noticed several this past week in GF that were listed under $1M has price drops - one of $100k. That's unusual - especially for May. |
The weekly McLean posts are not working, either. |
No - there can be houses under contract removed in other locations. I don't know why some do it. I only mentioned Pimmit Hills because it is an obsession of some on DCUM who would be appalled that anyone put in an offer in GF or western Mclean at the same [or any] price point instead of Pimmit hills. |
It's hilarious that they get under your skin so much. The closer-in suburbs will always get more attention on this forum than Great Falls or Poolesville. |
I live in McLean, and I find the weekly posts rather contrived and sad. Potential buyers are capable of making their own decisions without such idiocy and lunacy every week. Your beef with Great Falls is glaringly obvious. Just stop. |
What are you babbling about? I don't have any beef with Great Falls. Actually, I quite like it, although I don't think I could handle the commute. But neither do I assume that every post where someone asks about homes or schools in McLean is "contrived." It just seems obvious that, as long as people are moving into or around this area, there will be more questions about closer-in suburbs like Bethesda, Arlington and McLean than there will be about suburbs that are further out. The OP's question seemed legitimate to me. |
I've forgotten what OP's question was.

That's amazing. Someone's in trouble. |
Did you read the listing? Right now it's just a parcel of land that is assessed at slightly less than $700K, and the owner is offering to build a mansion for an additional $1.5M. So that's $2.2M miminum. Who knows what they were proposing to build for $3.7M at some point - probably another mini-Versailles. It is amazing that 3.4 acres in Great Falls is now worth about as much as a teardown on .25/acre in parts of Falls Church or the less expensive parts of McLean, but the owner can probably sell the land if there are no takers. |
| Great Falls is quite beautiful. I assure you their citizens are nit concerned with you. |
What does it mean to be a "citizen" of Great Falls? Did it just declare independence? |
Maybe it should. The people who live there are quite proud of it, but not in an obnoxious, overcompensating way, like some places.
