PRO-LIFE March on Washington this Friday, March22

Anonymous
Had an abortion in 1982. I have never regretted it. I made the right decision for me.

Y'all have fun shouting in the snow.

Sounds like God has spoken against the march

I checked the website http://marchforlife.org/mfl-2016/. It says "Despite the winter storm prediction, the March for Life will not be cancelled."

So there willing to endanger and possibly kill the already born?

They don't care once the baby is born.

How much time/energy/money do the spend supporting children at risk?

Which neighborhood are you in?

Me? I support a few local groups that help women/children. And I'm also 100% pro-choice.

How about these pro-lifers? How much time marching vs. time volunteering for live children?

How does abortion "help" the aborted child?

Saves them from a lifetime of being unwanted.

So how many hours a month do you volunteer to help needy living children?

What a disgusting post. I was born to an unwed mother in 1980, and spent most of my childhood at various relatives' houses, before aging out of the foster care system. No one wanted me, so I guess it just would have been better if I'd have been killed. How horrible.

I am pro-life and anti-death penalty for future reference. Also, I am pro-choice. The vast majority of people who have abortions made the choice to have sex. That was the choice of those people.

+1.

The left has tried for decades to remove any concept of responsibility or morality with sex. If you don't want to get pregnant, then don't have sex. If you choose to have sex and not use protection, you might make a baby. Be an adult and accept the responsibility for your action, not try to terminate the innocent life that was produced as a result of your actions.

Agree 100% but I still wouldn't prevent a woman from getting an abortion if she decides that is the best choice for her.

And I don't debate the terminology. Call it a baby if you want. An unwanted baby.

Tons of couples DO want that baby to love and care for. TONS.

Good. Then they can adopt all of the available children out there.

Terminology is legally important though. It's illegal to kill a baby for example. So to call an embryo or fetus a baby is insinuating abortions are illegal. The entire premise behind pro-life or pro-choice is based upon the terminology.

Ok - how about "viable baby" vs. "non-viable baby"?

Late term abortion considered baby euthanasia.

I know it feels good to put people in tidy little boxes, but most people, of all political stripes, have enjoyed premarital and/or non-procreational intercourse. And for a few decades, we've had reliable birth control. Many avail themselves of these options - again, from all political parties. And for many, having an abortion is acting responsibly. You disagree. FTR, have you heard the stories told by staff at abortion-providing clinics? Lots and lots of anti-choice protesters have abortions, then get back out harrassing women. So it seems that even anti-choice people is "irresponsible" and "immoral" with sex.

And I never understand why anti-choice people - who profess to love life! - basically see a baby as a punishment. It's gross.

If you think a baby is a "punishment," then don't make one.

define viable. Keeping in mind viable can range from cloning a human from a skin cell to being able to breath/drink/eat independently.

Conservative Christians seem to think the only purpose of sex is procreation. Sorry your lives such so much.

I'll take the 22 week gestation I mentioned earlier. After that point abortions restricted to those deemed medically necessary by patient and doctor.

In short, fetus != human.

you 2 forgot embryo. It has the potential to form into a human after it stops relying on its host for food and nutrients.

You think "it" transforms into a human the day the OB delivers?

Stupidity at its finest.

It's called rationalization. Or perhaps complete ignorance of biology.

"Ignorance" is setting up the strawman that anyone has an abortion in the third trimester for anything other than the most devastating reasons. Ghouls.

I don't know who you are talking to, but I am the person who posted just before you. I have family members who have been in that situation (late abortion for devastating reasons). I am thankful they had the option available when they needed it. But what was lost was their baby, a human being, and we mourned and still mourn the loss of that child. Don't fucking tell me it wasn't a human being or a baby just because it was still in the womb. I also lost a pregnancy. I mourned that baby, as well. Fuck you if you are going to tell me that wasn't my baby or call it a parasite. Abortion is not something to be taken lightly, even by those of us that believe it needs to be available.

I wish we would all work harder to ensure adequate education, adequate access to effective birth contol, etc. that would prevent unwanted pregnancy in the first place.

I didn't "fucking tell" you anything of the sort, so I guess fuck you, too? I didn't say it wasn't a baby, I didn't call it a parasite - you're having an argument entirely in your own head there. I say again, clearer, so maybe you needn't say "fuck you" without cause again - the anti-choice side pretends that women have third trimester abortions all the time. In no world do they.

The fuck you is to everyone on this thread dismissing babies in the womb as non-babies or non-humans. It's just bizarre and weird to claim that.

Why did you insert something about third trimester abortions into an exchange about terminology? You were totally off topic.

They need to change the legal terminology to match biological reality. It's a human being either way. Its right to live are a different story, as sad as that may be.

I consider it at the point it can survive for itself outside the womb, and has a nervous system.

So ~23 weeks gestation?

Works for me...
And you do realize that <1% of abortions occur then?

Works for me too.

Termination of human life?

Yup. Under say 22 weeks.

Over 22 weeks for medical reasons.

Find (even on DCUM!) some women who suffered a miscarriage, and feel better because it wasn't a human life. EVERY such woman knows she lost a baby.

Go ahead, PP, prove me wrong.

NP here -- raising my hand. I had a miscarriage. It was a wanted pregnancy, and I was very sad, but it wasn't a baby. I was grieving the potential to have a baby with that specific pregnancy, but I felt better after a couple of days. It was nothing compared to the devastation I would've felt if my infant had died.

I disagree with you. When I miscarried, I lost a baby. The grief is different, because I didn't get to know him/her in the same way I have my children, but there is grief nonetheless.

They love to equate even the day-after pill (which prevents the sperm from even implanting, thus it's not even a fertilized egg let alone a fetus) with third trimester abortions. That's what the Hobby Lobby folks did. To anti-abortion activists, EVERYTHING is a third trimester abortion.

The right has, for decades, twisted this issue in the direction that allows them to feel morally superior all the while avoiding doing any real work in service of the women at the heart of the matter. You've got skills!

Do you support free contraception in schools? Have you adopted an unwanted child? How many impoverished, abused, neglected, unwanted children do you support with your time? Do you even think about the children born into lives of hell once they've left the womb? No. You don't.

It is your actions that are irresponsible and immoral.

On the contrary, the left is all about responsible sex, and there teaches all about birth control, STDs, etc. And wants to make birth control freely available to all. The right, on the other hand, wants to limit access to both sex education and contraception. And what do you get? Bristol Palin with babies by two different fathers, none of whom she was married to.
