Hegseth's Grand Summoning

“ It was striking how many times President Trump tried to get the assembled military leaders to break character and laugh when he mocked his predecessors or used his usual political lines. It was also striking how often they resisted before Trump finally threw in the towel.”

They initially were reporting, but I think they saw how embarrassing it was and decided to save face.

Remember when cnn freaked out because Biden gave a speech with two marines behind him?

Interesting for Hegseth and Trump railing about “political correctness” after the admin spent two weeks policing what people can and can’t say about Charlie Kirk

I didn’t so I fact checked it.

On September 1, 2022, President Joe Biden delivered a speech titled "The Battle for the Soul of the Nation" outside Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Two uniformed U.S. Marines stood at attention behind him, which sparked criticism from some CNN journalists, including John Harwood and Brianna Keilar, who expressed concerns about the optics of using military members as a backdrop for a politically charged speech, given the military's apolitical stance. Harwood tweeted that the Marines' presence was a mistake, as it risked appearing to politicize the military. Keilar also noted the unusual nature of the setup.

The White House and Biden supporters pushed back, arguing the Marines were part of the official setting and not a political prop, and the speech was a standard presidential address. The controversy was covered by multiple outlets, including CNN, Fox News, and Reuters, confirming the event and the backlash.

That's what this is all about.

This perspective makes a lot of sense. If it’s true, hopefully it means that Vance will have it out for Hegseth and will find a way to get him removed.

I think my takeaway from this speech is that Pete Hegseth is going to challenge JD Vance for the GOP nomination in 2028, and my takeaway from recent anonymous leaks about Hegseth is that Vance knows it.

That would be great news! I can't imagine Hegseth being able to be elected to sixth-grade class president, let alone POTUS.

Would you encourage your son or daughter to show up to their first day in “big law” wearing a hoodie and joggers?

Dress for the job you want, not the one you have.

Military Officers, especially in the higher ranks are extremely serious and professional people. This is some silly shit and they aren’t going to partake in silly behavior in a public environment.

Surely, SURELY, suggesting training your military ON YOUR OWN CIVILIANS is a red line? Yes? *taps earpiece* No???

Would you gather your entire extended family in person to give your son that suggestion?

There are many posters here who agree with this.

When Trump said the US military protects this country from foreign and domestic enemies and talks about the domestic enemies, I wonder how many in the room looked at Trump and thought you are the domestic enemy.

Man Trump looks old and weak. Lucky Trump had a teleprompter because when he stopped reading it was scary.

It is interesting he only demonized domestic enemies- democrats, blue states, blue cities and anyone who criticizes Trump. No mention of foreign enemies-Putin and Xi Jinping. Guess there are no foreign enemies.

If you were in that room Trump is telling you the US military will be unleashed against the civilians population of the US. Get ready everyone it is coming.
