East Wing is gone
|
|
Unbelievable, the desecration.
Imagine if Obama had done this. |
Saddest is that once built it's so much work to take down such a monstrosity! The fact that he puts it up is one thing but if we ever fix it it will be such a huge undertaking. This is the prob with Trump stuff - while it's one thing to say that once we change him out things are able to return, the reality is his damage so epic it's not easy
|
It probably won’t be taken down after he is gone it would be a massive waste of money. |
It is probably being built with the cheapest materials possible, not like the stone and steel that is being taken down at the East Wing. He raised $250 million for something that will cost at most, $3 million to build. |
Maybe, maybe not. The upkeep and utilities and furnishings for a 90K sqft space is not insignificant. |
I don’t understand. Why is it going to be taken down? |
Trump said in July that no part of the existing White House complex would be demolished. He lied. |
| The contractors and architects are taking a beating right now online and on the phone. I doubt that anyone will ever use any of them ever again. |
|
The architect donated to a conservative PAC years ago. I looked him up on Open Secrets.
I hope Clark gets fined. It was not permitted. |
I was just about to ask the name of the architect and the construction firm. Do you know the name of the architect? And is Clark “Clark construction”? |
Who is the architect? |
I think emperor is a more accurate term. |
Obama wore a tan suit and people had a cow about it. |
James McCreary. Just found these. A religious nut who had reservations, but sh-t on the historic building. I recently read a long piece by Bunny Mellon about how thoughtfully she designed the garden. It will make you weep. https://www.punchlistmag.com/p/what-to-know-about-james-mccrery-trump-s-white-house-architect-baf3a5b393403350 https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/21/arts/design/trump-ballroom-architects-review.html |
