I have a kid. I know he prefers junk food, almost all kids do. But he has to eat fruit and veggies when he's at my dinner table. Again, it's so illuminating that you compare people in poor neighborhoods to school children. I stand by assertion: classist assh#le. |
The mainstream democratic party is dead and gone and buried. What's left are straight up communists. Sane business owners and "elites" will move. |
DP. How can you not compare them to children if they can’t support themselves and need somebody else’s money to buy food? |
Listen, I don’t know which county fair booth you got your education from, but go ask your meemaw for a few tickets to try again. A progressive system of taxation is how societies are built, and corporations and billionaires both have been mooching off society for far too long. I know that you are desperate to turn the US into Somalia, but some of us would like to live and raise children in a 1st world country. It will be fun and ironic when we actually do make American great again by getting rid of corporate fetishists, like you. NYC has more people than a whole bunch of red states, in aggregate, and they voted to move forward. Sorry for your loss. I THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION IN THIS MATYER. lol. |
I am confused. The current MAHA platform under Trump 2.0 includes cleaning up school lunches even though MAGAs complained that kids would not eat them when Michelle Obama attempted the same. What do the MAHAs want??? Is the PP a MAGA who has not yet converted to MAHA under Trump 2.0? Make up your minds already! |
100% Just go volunteer at a food bank/food pantry in this area. Those collecting their rations do not want fresh veggies. Fresh veggies are the #1 thing that goes to waste for us. We have had the "you get what you get & you don't throw a fit" rule for about a year now, and people still ask for no fresh veggies. A lot of their reasons are valid, too, tbh. Reasons such as poor/no teeth (hard to bite/chew raw veg), no way to cook, and kids refuse them and fed is best when it comes to kids. They want foods that are easy and fast to consume and filling. Foods that can be made in 1 pot and only require 1 burner because many people don't have a working stove but do have an electric burner. |
rent out Venice for their midlife crisis wedding to a Bratz blow up doll?? |
I think you fail to grasp just how much money a billion dollars is, let alone hundreds of billions. |
it worked in the 1960s, didn't it? our tax rates are absurdly low- like the gilded age low not the post www2 glow up All powerful American century tax rates at ALL. |
Do you think more food pantries could be beneficial to people in those communities? |
This is one of the reasons why I think its shameful that SNAP can't be used for things like rotisserie chicken or hot bar items. This is also the reason why peanut butter is such a hot commodity at food pantries. |
Again, you are proposing that more tax dollars should be spent to build a grocery store and stock it with food that people in the community don't want. How about you just donate your money instead and see how that goes? The lack of stores isn't because people can't afford it. They don't want it. If the margin was 20% there still would be food deserts. Econ 101. |
There is so much incorrect econ logic in this post that I can't even begin to write a response. But seriously, just spend 3 seconds thinking a typical poor person working 2 jobs and where they want to spend their time. But you don't know any actual poor people, so you just imagine they are just waiting around hoping they have time to cook a ten course meal from some fictional Whole Foods. |
This thread confirms that the lefties have never been around actual poor people, lol. Yes, let's raise middle class taxes so we can operate grocery stores to sell unwanted vegetables to people who don't have the time or kitchen or family to do it.
Please, go talk to these people who supposedly care so much about before supporting these nonsense socialist ideas. |
They want the rich gone so prices can go down |
