Olympics Opening Ceremony

Did anyone else enjoy the Eurodance party towards the end? It was absolutely banging.

None of this was “art” or “acceptance.” It was a fetish.

None of that needed to be in there. It was not a pride event. Contrary to some people’s opinion, not everything is a pride event.

Exactly - keep your debauchery inside the bedroom. This is about sports and athletic achievement, not a fashion show

It was not America’s turn to host the games. Shut up and absorb a new perspective. You might actually grow as a human.

Growing as a human does not mean accepting those who openly mock Christianity. Also one of the performers has his balls hanging out standing near a girl. Is celebrating pedophilia one of the new perspectives you think people should absorb?

The message of inclusion is not offensive to most good people.

In 100 years the imagery mocking women on the bridge in the opening ceremonies will be looked as examples of grossly misogynist historic minstrelism in public events. You are on the wrong side of history.

Conservatives claim to value freedom, but that only applies to gun access. Not what you wear, what you read, what pronouns you prefer, art, whether you want to can choose to give birth.

Liberte!

It seems incredibly anti-freedom to want to suppress all criticism of art, and I’m only hearing that demand from liberals.

I am unaware of his misogyny. Are you sure you’re not confusing him w Kanye or P Diddy? They’re aren’t all the same person you know. Snoop is awesome to me.

I’m pretty sure that he’s said that he used to be a pimp back in the day. He also was directing porn at one point.

Peyton Manning and Kelly Clarkson were awful. Why these two? They had nothing insightful to say. Why not have a former Olympian who can talk about their experience?

Can y'all elaborate on what you are finding to be so American? Aside from the inclusion of Lady Gaga, I'm not seeing it.

Phelps, Serena, Carl Lewis, big boat for USA but a shared boat for the large Chinese and Canadian teams.

China and Canada is the cheater boat

omg. I came on here hoping to talk about how it sucked but not because of glitter shorts and Kelly clarkson. It was...tacky. Pink Floyd light show, weird balloon caldron. all this moving around Paris. Stay Still people.

feel free to continue the weirdness now.

The opening ceremony is just another example of how society thinks it is acceptable to mock Christianity. Hollywood and the music industry openly push demonic and Satanic imagery while simultaneously mocking God and Christianity. They don’t even try to hide it anymore. Some of these artists and actors sell their souls for fame and fortune. Look into the recent music and videos from Lil Nas, Eminem and Sam Smith. I’m not even religious but it feels like we are in a battle of good vs evil these days and too many people aren’t paying attention.

Yes, you are religious. France is historically a secular country.

I did like Lady Gaga though.

I love it, it's completely over the top in the best way. Love the color explosions, pyrotechnics, how they integrate architecture, old and new music, cultural elements...

Ditto!
