You’d think the organizers would have learned something from last year’s Bud Light fiasco. But some lessons have to be taught again. I am not watching the Olympics this year on TV. Let me know if there is an exciting clip or two that I can see on Twitter. |
Ditto, although I pretty much never watch them anyway lol. |
The Paris Olympics don’t have to pander to right-wing Americans who drink Bud Light |
Ok but somewhere in the Olympics is a financial dependence on selling advertising and getting people to pay attention. Back in the old days, there was no competition- you watched the Olympics because for a couple of weeks it was the best thing on TV and there wasn’t much else. These days it’s really easy to forget about the fact that they are even happening. |
Don’t most people watch the Olympics because they love sports? Doesn’t sound like they were your thing, ceremony or not. |
NP, how would you even know if this comment is from a religious person. I am not religious per se, but I am offended by the fact that this performance was targeting the population of the entire world, many of which are Christians and deeply religious. |
I’ll watch the next Olympics if they decide to make it about sports again instead of drag queens mocking Christianity and putting their junk on display. |
Well said. Thank you. |
The whole opening ceremony was botched from start to finish. |
Completely disagree. |
| It’s so funny because I watched the whole ceremony from start to finish and admittedly I spent some time on my phone and the broadcast spent some time split screen with Americans or ads or whatever but I didn’t notice the last supper tableau at all. Was it 30 seconds out of a 3 hour broadcast? |
| The pic of that one guy clearly shows a rip in his tights and nothing more 🤷♀️ |
Wait for Salt Lake in 10 years I guess. 👋 |
The fact that the next summer games will be in Los Angeles doesn’t exactly offer much hope for a family friendly event. |
I loved this ceremony and I was thinking about how the LA ones should go. I think Spielberg introducing this one for NBC means he will be involved with LA. |
