Ok but somewhere in the Olympics is a financial dependence on selling advertising and getting people to pay attention. Back in the old days, there was no competition- you watched the Olympics because for a couple of weeks it was the best thing on TV and there wasn’t much else. These days it’s really easy to forget about the fact that they are even happening.

Don’t most people watch the Olympics because they love sports? Doesn’t sound like they were your thing, ceremony or not.

NP, how would you even know if this comment is from a religious person. I am not religious per se, but I am offended by the fact that this performance was targeting the population of the entire world, many of which are Christians and deeply religious.

It’s so funny because I watched the whole ceremony from start to finish and admittedly I spent some time on my phone and the broadcast spent some time split screen with Americans or ads or whatever but I didn’t notice the last supper tableau at all. Was it 30 seconds out of a 3 hour broadcast?

I loved this ceremony and I was thinking about how the LA ones should go. I think Spielberg introducing this one for NBC means he will be involved with LA.
