Golden Bachelorette

Even with his tarnished reputation, Joan only has half the Insta followers Gerry does. Fewer than Leslie, even. It's both surprising and disappointing.

Yes.

That, and Joan is boring.

I am old..but Wayne Newton??????

Put that man out of his misery.

His face looks way way past it’s expiration date 😳

Even when I was young I would not be comfortable kissing that many men in one week, let alone in my sixties!!!

Obviously she was directed to keep Jack and Charles L, early fan favorites, even though there is zero chance she'd be romantic with either.

Is owning a hair salon really that lucrative? His salon results look pretty basic, and it was advertising for new clients not that long ago.

He is in great shape , but seems obnoxious in how he expects the other men to do his chores!!! Hate that he’s self-described “high maintenance “ man!

The Captain seems insecure and irritable. Why is he still resting on his military laurels, when that was decades ago? Move on!

I love Chock, and think Jonathan is gorgeous (and sexy). Keith has potential. Others are very sweet, but definitely give me friend vibes (Charles L, Gary, Bob).

I hope she finds happiness.

Just watched ep 2. So awkward. Haven't seen ep 3 yet.

Prom: Taylor Dayne? Bizarre. People who can't dance dancing. And what on earth is that prom dress thing Joan was wearing? I know everyone loves Charles, and he is so sweet ... but sitting there alone and then talking about his sorrow ... not the best way to be at a party. Jonathan's rose was a pity rose (those do seem to be pretty common on The Bachelor shows).

Disney: I really like Chock, but he talked a lot about himself on that Disney date (of course that could just be the edit). That dinner was lovely, though.

Talent show: I mean ... I guess Joan thought it was all cute? Especially because of how it went for her last time? But I just thought it was embarrassing.

Dinner w/ Dan: Dan seemed nice. I don't know ... nice. Not sure what else to say about him. I don't find him particularly attractive.

Did Jordan mention missing a dog in addition to his daughters? If so, he is awesome. Jack is great in his way, but I wouldn't date him -- too unsophisticated. Those stupid "canonballs." Gary is nice, but so dorky and seems insecure. Kim makes me uncomfortable; he's weirdly possessive and too intense about it all. I really like Mark; he is attractive, nice, confident, seems smart. But I feel like he's really there to be the next Golden Bachelor, so she can't pick him? I think Pascal is going to be the villain.

This is probably insensitive, but in general I'm tired of all the "grief counseling" as a PP put it.

The original show had very good ratings.

Family money? He had an impoverished childhood, supposedly.

So, he is overcompensating by being so conspicuously spoiled.

I’m curious too - he used to have more than one salon but it appears that he now only has one. Decades ago, I went to his salon in the city - I believe it was in River North. I never met him and went there for a specific stylist and followed her when she left. He may have other investments or family money. Who knows?

Anonymous wrote:I don’t get this show. I find a bunch of really old men groveling over a woman is really cringy. Makes my skin crawl. I saw the talent show last week and could only watch 2 acts.

Am I the only one that can’t watch this show????

But you are okay with women groveling over a man?

They are all so kind and respectful to one another. I have not chosen the one personally I feel that is the best suited for Joan as yet.

I also like that the men are being mutually supportive, more so than competitive. There is something to be said for less testosterone ( ie, less “big d*ck energy”).

Old people have been through some stuff, which often gives them insight and empathy.

Well said.

I like Pascal the best - there is something sooo hot about his French accent and his European je ne sais quoi. French men are the sexiest.

His face looked like a mask of Wayne Newton. It didn't move.

Jonathan might be a good fling before settling down with a better match.
