Birth control is totally different. I don’t know anyone that is opposed to birth control. Every woman I know has been on it. All the Republican woman I know are on it. The Republican guys wives and girlfriends are all on it. I just don’t think there is a realistic chance of them rolling it back, and saying that’s why people should vote blue is not going to win any votes.
I do think the fact that Trump apparently didn’t know what contraception means is a significant point. Charlie Dent was on CNN and this was his take — Trump just doesn’t understand the word and the different between both control and medical abortion. Which is scary and sad.

You think the words of Republicans about how they plan to go after birth control makes Democrats sound not credible? Why don’t you read the thread first and then comment?

NP

Most Republican voters use birth control and support it. Most Republican voters oppose abortion and have been fighting to ban it for decades.

Overturning of Roe was not surprising to anyone who was paying attention.

This is just a scare tactic by the Dems. There of course are fringe extremists who want to ban birth control but most Republicans do not. Just like there are some Democrats who really want to abolish ICE and the police but most do not.

oh stfu with the “scare tactic” line. people like you were equally claiming it was a “scare tactic” that states would outlaw abortion post-Row.

What has happened with abortion over the past 8 years or so has been obvious as soon as Trump got number of appointees he did.

Let me know when SCOTUS abolishes interstate commerce and effectively upholds the prohibition of interstate travel for the purposes of abortion.

Sounds like a real possibility with the partisan hacks who sit on the SCOTUS. So then you'll come back and tell us we were right to worry?

p.s. sorry to hear you are so uncaring about women that you don't realize what a burden it is for a mother of young children making minimum hourly wage to take 2 days off work and travel 13+ hours to get to another state for an abortion.

Women need to stockpile what they need to stock pile and be ready for this ongoing crap until they can get their basic rights protected again.

Does that seem like a logical conclusion or a real working idea? Maybe people could just take the GOP at their word since they’re not keeping it a secret.

Exactly. No need to be a doomsday prepper. Vote for Biden and democrats and you can get on with your life.

WRONG

Republicans are planing to either take the country by force ie MIKE FLYNN & Active Duty GENERAL CHARLES FLYNN and or Mike Johnson who will not seat Dems in the House on Jan 3rd. Then the election goes to Republcians. JFC people wake the hell up they are screaming what they are going to do with details.

Yes this is going to happen wake up.

In 2020 Dems eeked by in some swing states. If we don't crush Republicans I mean crush them, which chances of this are slim to none the House Decides. And the courts this time are not going to hold like last time because SCOTUS is compromised. They are going to install Donnie as the new KING of the US.

Anyone not thinking this shit isn't heading here like a Mack Truck you are not awake.

Prepare ladies like the world is ending because it is not only going to be contraceptives you will have to worry about.

It’s not like their agenda has been a secret, not in its misogyny and not in taking away women’s right to bodily autonomy. I think most of the people reading this thread have a decent idea where the GOP wants to drag the country.

My sincere wish is that those who are in denial actually click the links and read for themselves what the GOP thinks and is doing and will do.

One of the Politico reporters who wrote this was on Greg Sargent’s podcast today with a lot of good points. One of which is the Trump campaign is trying to distance itself from all the crazy anti-birth control sh!t in Project 2025, but the author of the health section in Project 2025 is Roger Severino, who was Director of HHS’s Office for Civil Rights during the Trump administration.

The problem is so many people don’t believe that Project 2025 could happen. And whether you point to what happened in Iran, Russia,
China, Hong Kong in recent history or Weimar Germany, Vichy France, Mussolini Italy in the early 20th, or so many more examples, people are very complacent.

It’s hard to understand why.

BS the whole Republcian party will install Project 2025.

Politico is crap at this point.

There is no reality the MAGA part of the Republican party has not imploded the whole party. There is no Republican party.

Project 2025 will be installed day one full stop no other reality exists.

Stephen Miller, Bannon, Mike Flynn, Gen Charles Flynn, Stone, Jason Miller and all the other deviants are going to be in charge in the US.They will install king Trump and the US will be a hellscape.

If you think eggs cost a lot now... You won't be having eggs . Wake up.

And ladies you only got rights in the 1960's and 1970's you are going to lose every single one.

Head scarfs are headed our way. Wake up this is not a drill. Your daughters and granddaughters do not deserve a hellscape like we are going to have. UGH

I am not over reacting you all are not paying enough attention.

Grow up. No one you know closely has ADMITTED TO YOU that they’ve had an abortion. Particularly if “everyone you know” is vocal about opposing it.

Most people are for abortion when they need one for their “fringe case”. There are many, many women who will NEVER admit they had one, and they will do the mental gymnastics to make it reasonable for their particular circumstance.

And will then continue to vocally oppose safe abortion for others.

I am the only person in my friend group who has not had an abortion. I am 65.

PP is right. Grow up. No one will confess their abortion to someone as insufferable as you.

+1
NYT just had an article in which the women featured had had “terminations” and were literally lying to themselves and pretending that they didn’t know that was an abortion. The only moral abortion…

But it’s really going to destroy lives if the GOP is able to get back in power.

And this will lead to the death penalty for women who have miscarriages.
