Yeah turns out that "athleticism" is not a function of how big your body is, but how hard you work on it. Both Patrick and Brittany Mahomes are very athletic, and yet one of them is tall and broad and likely weights a lot and the other is small and thin and probably doesn't weigh very much.

Also, I think Brittany looks cute at the Met Gala. It is not her job as an athlete's date to come out in some exotic get up like she's Gigi Hadid or Florence Pugh. She's not a model, she's not an actor promoting a career, she's a date. Bill Nighy came with Anna Wintour, the woman who organized the entire event and even picked many of the outfits people wore, and he just wore a suit, not a giant cat costume or a 5 foot hat or an embroidered cape or something. It's okay for Brittany to just wear a pretty dress and have her hair and make up done. They were in black and white, it's fine.

I agree. I actually think it would have been weird if she showed up in something costume-like. Plus she IS wearing Hugo Boss Couture (in no way shabby.)

Agree, too. For stuff like this, athletes' wives who are not themselves celebs tend to dress in a way that isn't over teh top since they are +1s. The ones who dress really "big" for these events tend to be the ones who were probably the invitee to these events and the athlete is the +1. Think Gisele, Victoria Beckham, Ciara, etc.

Pro athletes tend to be very tall and muscular so most women--even taller women-- look smaller next to them. Brittany Mahomes is actually something like 5'8" in real life.

Yes, this is the same shade of the dress he designed for Nicole. She said he loved to design pale pink for her (I guess there were other dresses he designed for her).

The pink thing came from a statement he made about not wearing pink.

He did and said a lot of things that were controversial or offensive, including body-shaming/fat shaming, supporting people accused of sexual assault or harassment, and making bigoted statements.

Well then good on Sidney Sweeney for making her quiet “pink protest.” Also, she is so young and new to the scene that I doubt she had ever met him.

and Anna Wintour never gets criticized for helping these men. He's a disgusting creep and she supports creeps in fashion. They suck.

I think there's a lot of room between, e.g., a Janelle Monae dress and where she landed, which I find too boring and generic for this particular event. But this discussion got weirdly vicious towards her, and I do take the point that she's not a fashion person and is just there bc her husband is a football player.
