Unfortunately it might take a while to get her to her family. From the link posted above:

I saw that. Our courts are continuing to traumatize this little girl by not having returned her to her family immediately. And after any of the prior decisions. She should be immediately returned to her family. |

I find it odd that no DNA testing has been done on this child and her cousin who is petitioning for custody or her siblings in Afghanistan. Supposedly she has 4 older siblings who are still alive while her parents are dead.
When AP went to interview neighbors and the siblings they said she was from the Afghan family but were not able to produce any pictures or proof. Yet other neighbors said foreign lighter skin family lived there who spoke another language and the baby was theirs. Surprisingly neither the Red Cross nor the US gov ever requires DNA testing to prove a family relationship. Does the child have her own lawyer representing her? Maybe it’s in the best interest of the child to get a dna test with this cousin to prove the relationship and if they aren’t related then neither party should get custody. Maybe she should be with her siblings in Afghanistan. |
If one parent is from the same country it’s sometimes allowed. My husband is Bangladeshi and we looked into it. Only one parents must be a Bangladeshi citizen. |
DNA is irrelevant. The Afghani government, which had jurisdiction, gave this family the child. Then the American came in and kidnapped the child. If an Afghan citizen came to America and kidnapped an adopted child would you be fine with that because of DNA? |
Where do you see that she has living siblings? “The baby had been rescued two years earlier from the rubble of a U.S. military raid that killed her parents and five siblings.” https://apnews.com/article/afghan-baby-us-marine-custody-battle-b157557538b84b288a0a8415735e24ab |
+1 the court system dragged this on. They are the ones who are causing harm to the child. |
They were interviewed in this article: https://apnews.com/article/afghanistan-raid-marine-orphan-custody-1e73bba608994a53fca37b904dfd9a81 |
But Mast surely has to be the cause of delay. He refuses to concede, he's a lawyer and has likely done everything possible to fight & delay. A disgrace of a human being. Regardless of his silly for show dress uniform that he apparently wears to court proceedings. |
+1 He should be thrown in prison for kidnapping. That should have happened the day he kidnapped her out of her family's arms. The wife should get prison time too! |
But, the courts have ultimate authority here, and they could easily tell him to give the child up *now*. Yes, Mast and his wife are cruel and kidnappers. |
+1. He should be dishonorably discharged and arrested. |
Thanks! I hadn’t seen that article. |
Absolutely. The DoD and State Department specifically and explicitly told him not to pursue the matter and he did anyways. When the child arrived in the US and he took possession of the baby, he should have been arrested and courtmartialed. How do we really have military personnel who continue to serve after directly violating instructions from the DoD and State Department regarding international affairs. And bringing a child across international borders to kidnap them, most definitely concern international affairs and a violation of international law. |
I don't understand how he's still in the military - he wrote a document and put it in DoD letterhead to make it appear official. That seems like misrepresentation to the court. And how diabolical do you have to be to trick a baby's family into coming to the US as refugees in order to kidnap their child. It's disgusting. |
