I’m failing to understand the “selfishness” of following the guidelines currently in place in a county with one of the highest vaccination rates in the nation. No one is stopping you from wearing a mask if that makes you feel safer. Covid is going to be endemic, so by your logic masking indoors should be mandated indefinitely, which is something that just isn’t going to happen. Focus on what you can control instead of trying to control other people’s behavior. |
+1 I don’t understand people who get upset because other people are following the law instead of an unwritten sliding moral goalpost. |
| I feel like every poster who go’s full unhinged re mask mandate and wanting it still to be, are just trolls looking to stir things up. People can’t be real…right?? That stupid?? |
The ONLY reason there is for covid to be endemic is idiots not wearing masks and breathing it in and getting infected. If you wear a mask, the mask will filter it out and stop it. My 3 year old understands this. It’s sad that so many adult dummies here don’t. We will never get rid of covid if there are people who won’t mask. |
We will never get rid of masks as long as people who think like you are around. |
No, people who want the mask mandate want to help stop the community spread as you an still get and spread covid vaccinated. Some have health issues where covid will kill them. Many are staying home but at some point you still need to get groceries and errands like prescriptions. Masks are one thing keeping our numbers down. As soon as the mask mandate was lifted, numbers went back up. Its going to be up and down for a while, especially with he holidays so lifting it now made no sense. People are still getting sick and dying from covid. Majority of adults and over 12 are vaccinated so saying that all we need to do is vaccinate clearly isn't the end of it. |
We nee a combination of masking, vaccines and behavior to stop this. Its not just as simple as masking. Its not as simple as the vaccines we have. But it is sad the number of people claiming they are healthy and vaccinated and yet they cannot do something as simple as wear a mask. |

Can we have a 20+ page thread every time the County goes maskless for a few days? Mask mandate returns on Wednesday.

This is absurd. Vote them all out. |
That’s just the reality of the situation. There are people who will refuse to get vaccinated, and there are wide swaths of the country where there are no mask mandates and people do not wear masks. Saying everyone just needs to wear masks and we would be through this is as unrealistic as my kids wanting a unicorn for Christmas. |
They're big, giant overgrown babies. I DON'T LIIIIIIKE IT. IT'S UNCOOOOOOOOMFORTABLE. DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DOOOOOOOOO."

I’m glad you like your masks and I hope you continue to wear one as long as you’d like. I only do so properly anymore if I’m taking a flight or if an employee at a store asks me to (which has never happened but I would happily comply with no complaints).
The one thing I will never do is the fake wear it to my table and then take it off when dining out. |
🙄 Masks are uncomfortable to wear for an entire workday. When you are in a meeting or having a conversation, it makes communication more difficult. I am a professional woman and wear makeup, masks are not great on your skin. And before someone tells me just don’t wear makeup, I’m 42 and I’ve always worn makeup so you aren’t going to change that, to me it is part of my professional appearance. Lastly, I am fully vaccinated with a booster, once my 9 year olds are vaccinated, I just don’t see why I would need to continue to wear a mask. I’ve spent 20 months following guidelines and rules to protect other people and once my kids are vaccinated I feel perfectly comfortable being unmasked indoors. We vacationed in Tennessee this summer pre-Delta without the kids, and it was so nice for that week to not wear a mask. |
Can we please follow through on this? Vote them out. |
It is impossible for lifting the mandate to have caused an increase in cases. The mandate was lifted Thursday. New cases showing up Friday and Saturday clearly cannot be the result of lifting the mandate given the time for infection and symptoms. You cannot even get a PCR test that quickly. That and virtually no one had stopped wearing masks. |
