I’m not trying to downplay the seriousness of this quote, but this isn’t new news, is it? She said this and it was publicized several months ago I thought. That this was reported before and dropped out of the news like this isn’t a massive effing deal really highlights the extent to which the media is complicit in the coup. Zoom out for a minute and look from above. The GOP is so thoroughly corrupt, so outside the bounds of normalcy that they have ceased to function as a political party and instead are working like a crime syndicate and the media pretends like they’re the dominant political party. They use all their framing, they exalt everything Republican and undercut the Democrats wherever and however they can, with the result being that people who don’t tune in and read about politics think the GOP is the sane and adult party. This situation gets more nuts every day. The GOP is cheating hard in NC and GA. I hope that mother clucker Roberts feels every inch of the pain he’s caused to people as he sits atop that illegitimate court, and with his deeply moronic and anti-democratic CU and gutting voting rights. Clucking smash hole. He thinks he’s good people, too. |
Completely agree. We had a coup. What bothers me, is what is coming next? |
A successful coup. |
Man with 5 guns & Molotov cocktails pleads guilty. Sentencing April 1.

? Not yet it isn’t. |
It wasn’t successful. It was an attempted coup by the Trump administration. |
No, my guess is that PP was trying to respond to the question directly above her. So it should look like this:
|
Didn't numerous states pass laws to strip powers from the voters and election officials and make it easier for the legislature to decide the slate of electors? Is it a coup if it's constitutional and lawful? We would call that a coup because so many of us want to pretend we have a democracy. But we have the EC, gerrymandered statehouses, the gerrymandered US House, the abomination that is the US Senate, precincts in which it takes hours to vote right next to precincts in which it takes minutes... We do not have much of a democracy. |
Yes, I suppose that’s true. And that Potted Plant John Roberts is aiding and abetting it. Surely some of you know that barge. Tell him what people think of him, will you? |
But I was told that these were all peaceful protesters just milling around in the rotunda. |
The horrifying part of all this is the conditions these people are being kept under, that they’ve be denied medical care, denied visits with their family, and been beat up repeatedly by guards. When the truth comes out, it will be ugly and charges should be brought. |
What’s horrifying is that you’ve never realized that that happens to prisoners all over the country and never gave a flying fig about it before. |
