KO is not a rec type coach, he played at Virginia Tech and has coached in the area for more than 10 years. My son played for his Westfield high school team and one of his herndon travel teams. I know that he left herndon and coached in Great Falls and Mclean before Valor

You sure jumped in quick with his complete resume for a random parent.

When did he coach for Westfield? He doesn't coach there now.

Sounds great, but coaching boys and girls is different. Also does he favor his child over more deserving players?

I think its fair to discuss the negative of the situation without specifically discussing his kid. HE was asked to be a parent coach of the third team last year, the second team this year, and the first team next year, and he coaches his kid on his team. so draw your own inferences.

He was good when my kid played for him and played kids who deserved to play for him. Can't tell you if he favors his kid over others, mine played for him 8 years ago.

My kid plays for him now and we really like him. He's good with the kids and they seem to listen to and respect him. He can be tough at times but not in a mean or condescending way and he gets results. He also seems to connect with the kids and has a good balance of fun and travel appropriate skill building. I am hopeful my kid can move to the top team to stay with him next year.

*Also, did I wait an appropriate amount of time to post for those thinking everyone on here is a shill or valor staff?*

You do the math. Consistently about 56 teams.

Its entertaining how fast the valor employee jumps in with coach resumes or pretending to be multiple happy parents. maybe the valor staff needs to focus on hiring some decent coaches for next year instead of trying to sock puppet up in here.

SA is now IA. He knows soccer and is coaching the kids on all the right things. Embraces the international approach to soccer so he doesnt do the US, Play, practice, play, which I appreciate. He has a lot of ambition for the club and does not always achieve his objectives, but he is trying. His biggest challenge is communications with player and parent. He will engage when you go out of the way to extract information, but you need to change your expectations for how he operates vs expecting him to tailor his communications to the player or parent needs. Most coaches seem to struggle with communications so this may be par for the course.

Why did he change his name from Stevie to Israel?!

Your kid was in high school 8 years ago?

Do you work for Valor? Shouldn't you be off trying to hire some coaches?

OK so the consensus here is that valor is not planning on posting the coach slate at all? They are going to pretend like not having coaches after tryouts have begun is normal?

You challenge someone’s claimed figures. The evidence is provided, so now you shift it to accusation of staff and quantity of coaches.

Other club threads on this site are full of people asking about coaching slates. It would appear this is a widespread issue among most clubs.
